Hanging out on the 4th

We literally hung out this fourth of July-just playing and eating and enjoying our little family. We decided to avoid the crowds and stuck to Discovery Park and barbequed a yummy dinner at home.  My lovely friend‘s mom (Thank you Jean!) sent me this little clipping from Country Woman in the mail a couple weeks ago so I decided this would be the festive touch this year.

Here’s one of the finished products (toddler made of course).

After the duo went to sleep, we watched some fireworks from the window.  Here’s the one UFO-esque pic I got.

Surprisingly, the two-some did not wake up despite all the booming going on in the neighborhood.  (It’s crazy what will and will not wake them up. ) And though it was super low-key, this was one of my favorite 4th’s ever.
