Seeing this little lemur on Trader Joe’s Cinnamon and Black Tea at Christmas made me all nostalgic and dreamy for our recent Singapore trip and I had to buy it. I love Trader Joe’s holiday products-I have so many whim purchases there at this time of year!
A couple months ago we traveled to my favorite zoo in the world. And this is why it’s my favorite:
Look how close you can get to the animals in The Fragile Forest. It’s in the Singapore Zoo and you could spend the whole day just in that section if you aren’t there with 3-year olds. But even my crazy energetic little guys were totally in awe. They could have watched the lemurs here forever.
Everywhere you go little lemurs run freely. You don’t touch them-but you totally want to. And if you’re lucky you see them being fed. And you see them do all their cool little lemur tricks. Lemurs are such fun animals to watch.
Teeny deer hide in the bushes and watch you as you pass by.
And bats hang from the trees. I don’t know where else you can see bats like this so up close.
And it’s here that you can truly imagine what it would be like to live in the wilderness for a little while. It doesn’t even feel like you’re in a zoo at all. Then you head back to the giant metropolis that is the rest of Singapore and have a spectacular lunch and dream about going back.
One other cool thing to see as a Seattlite is this sign you see as you exit the Fragile Forest:
I love how we always see bits of home when we travel and this quote reminds me of how much we need to help our animals friends.
I have been OBSESSED with that tea! I only have one more box left and it’s killing me to know i have to wait a full year for that and more peppermint chocolate pretzels…
I haven’t tried the tea yet, but I wish I had bought more boxes now;) The thought of lemur tea makes me giggle!
