Goodbye February!

March 1, 2012 by admin

Another month has zipped by.  It even had a bonus day, and that managed to zip by too.  How does this happen?  I remember when it seemed like the days couldn’t go by fast enough….

But, watching a month go by helps celebrate some things.

Like I’ve managed to keep my makeup drawer clean since the end of last year: I have all my makeup in little baskets like these ones.

One for everything eyeshadow.  One for lips.  One for lotions and potions, etc. And about a dozen more. Because of this, I’ve been able to keep better inventory and it’s reduced impulse buys.  (I’m trying very hard NOT to buy any until I use them all up!  This was also a project I was very hesitant to start.  It was forced on me by the hubby who bought the bins and I’m thinking I should have negotiated a reward if I keep it up.)

We haven’t had any diapers go through the wash this year.

And I haven’t brushed my teeth with diaper cream yet this year either.  (Dear S if you manage to read this in your groggy state of newborn bliss, do not store your diaper cream in the same area as your toothpaste.  The bottles look the same.)

My toes are newly sparkled up.

And I tried a cool new subscription.  (I have a thing for boxes in the mail. I think this one is a keeper and have cancelled all other subscriptions. It also looks like there’s a contest on La Jolla mom to win a year free if you want to check it out.)

We finally gave the guys their Christmas presents.  They were still wrapped.  We just didn’t get a chance in December because that zipped by too.  Thankfully there were a few nice sunny days where we could try them out.

And what will March bring?  Hopefully a pot of gold under a rainbow.  Or at least a leprechaun the guys can chase until they run all their energy out.  We’ll just have to wait and see.

What a great idea to have different mini baskets for different make up! I might try that, too.
