I love this craft idea that we received in a Babbabox recently.  It needs a little planning because it’s two part.  The first day we put a couple drops of food coloring with water in an ice cube tray and froze it for 30 minutes before putting the sticks in. Then we actually forgot about it for a few days.

On a morning we were feeling crafty we revisited our little frozen paint pops and had fun creating impressionist masterpieces.  Babbabox included watercolor paper that worked better than just regular paper, but we went through that quickly so next time I do this, I’ll make sure I have more on hand.

Here we are creating:

We worked on these for quite a while.  I can’t wait for sunnier days to try doing this outside.

(PS one thing I might try next time: I may use Kool-Aid packs in the summer to color the cubes and it might add a little scented dimension to their art as well.)
