Watch a Bug: a math problem.

June 4, 2012 by admin

Last week the boys and I spent an afternoon catching ladybugs, so I found a bug-catcher that sounded cool online.  I ended up buying from Sears because it also had the yogurt maker I wanted on sale for a pretty good deal.  I weighed out the two options below and then thought I might as well buy the whole crate and into my virtual cart it went.

Imagine my surprise when ONE watch showed up at my house the other day.  ONE watch-a-bug for 24.75!  There is still some question as to whether or not the seller was selling one watch or the whole box and I thought as long as it was at least nine, it was a decent price.  So, here is the math problem: how many watch-a-bug’s would you expect to receive if you were in my shoes?

(P.S. dramatic shopping experience aside, I totally thought this would make a great goody-bag, don’t you think?)

I would be completely outraged! If one sells for $3.55 and the other is pictured in a box of a dozen for $24, I wouldn’t even question that that’s what I was getting! I would complain to Sears about that and contact the credit card company or Paypal or whomever. I’m furious on your behalf.

Oh – and give them a horrid rating too. grrrr

Thanks jenny! After three phone calls and a bunch of emails it sounds like I will have to pay shipping back and forth if I return this item. Not happy about this at all:(
