We’re 6C and we know it

I wish I could say I only do this when we travel, but I learned this trick when the boys were babies and I got so scatterbrained that I would lose the “Silver bus” everywhere we went.  Thank you to my handy smartphone (I swear this is the most mom-friendly invention of all time), I just take a picture of the landmark we’re parked next to (thankfully at Pacific Place they’re well marked) and then if I do misplace my vehicle I have an easy clue.

On trips this is especially useful because when I’m in an unfamiliar place, with an unfamiliar vehicle, the last thing I want to do is waste my precious travel time looking for my car that was parked next to a palm tree, or was it a banana bush, and what did my vehicle look like again?

(PS This is part of Travel Tips Tuesday on Suitcases and Sippy Cups and Walkingon travels and I love hearing what other people do when they travel.

PPS. Keryn from Walkingon travels just came back from Kauai and I’m insanely jealous!)

I do the same thing! The other night I was in Downtown Denver by myself. I had to park in a parking garage and walk a couple of blocks to my dinner destination. I was so worried I wouldn’t find my way back to my car that I took pictures with my phone the whole way to my destination…my own version of breadcrumbs!

  2. Ha! Great title. My hubby always takes a picture of our parking spot number. Way back when I was a kid, my parents forgot where they parked in the enormous Disneyland parking lot. The attendants asked my parents what time they got there and were able to pinpoint a section of the parking lot to search. They would have loved a smartphone picture back then.

I had never thought of taking a picture of the location in a parking lot. Great idea! Thanks!

    What a brilliant idea!!

Yep, I do this too. Couldn’t live without out it! I love the creative title, although if that song is permanently stuck in my brain today, I am blaming you! 🙂

  7. I do the same thing! I swear, I don’t know how I ever managed to function before smartphones! 🙂
