Everyone needs a froufrou pink jolt once in a while

July 25, 2013 by Terumi

Sometimes my patron saint of all things pink and wonderful gives me a glittery sign from the heavens that keeps me going when we get too much soccer, dirt and camping in our house.

I spent a lovely afternoon with some darling creative ladies in my new craft club and I had so much fun I can’t wait for the next one!  Aleah our talented host from Valley and Co had such a beautiful spread of yummy lemonades and other drinks.

We embossed and stamped and chatted and crafted.  And my favorite part was the flowers.

I’ve always wanted to work in a flower shop.  (Namely Garlands Florist in Vancouver, BC.  My sis and I used to spend hours in that store during our college days just taking in all the beauty and they were my wedding florist.)

Aleah taught us a couple ways to keep flowers arranged with scotch tape and chicken wire.

I’ve also bookmarked all these tutorials on goddess Martha’s site to help me for next time and I want to try this little succulent arrangement Aleah made on her blog.

It was neat to see how even with the same materials how unique each persons’ art became.  Since we all got together,  I’m now trying to make sure we have more flowers in the house so I can practice.  It’s amazing how happy and cheerful a bouquet of sunny blooms can make a room.

I love how I’ve finally figured out in adulthood/momhood that it’s actually important to embrace my creative side and carve precious minutes in my day for crafting and making.  I’m not sure the least bit what I’m doing, but it’s fun to play with artsy materials and explore (and you know how much I LOVE to buy new things!!).  Are you into anything creative lately?

(PS. if it’s calligraphy or watercolors, please totally let me know.  I’m totally into those two mediums too!!!)
