What you shop for when there’s an emergency

Spread the love

Today things feel miraculously okay.  But this is what you write at 5 in the morning when you’re a panicked mother:

My baby is in the hospital.  He’s been there for the past 5 hours for an injury I’m hoping is quite minor.  I’m waiting for the other one to get up so we can figure out what to do.  And all this wishing and hoping and praying is making me bonkers.

If only you could buy world peace online.  Wouldn’t the earth be a better place?

You can buy a world map pinboard that’s pretty cool at Urban Outfitters.

Or a peace shirt from Free People or peace-shaped baubles at Macys.

You can even buy products that give back to the world that make you feel better like Toms, Stone and Cloth and Honest Company.

But when your baby is in a hospital and you can’t do anything, all the money and shopping in the world won’t bring you any kind of calm.

You just sit and wait and watch the world wake up.

While you pray yours doesn’t come crashing down.

    1. Thanks! Yes, everything is better. It’s amazing how things can just turn around either way in an instant:)
