A grown-up party at the Children’s Museum

Spread the love
This year was my year to throw the hubby’s work party and I was a little worried that it would be tough to hold it at our house if it was rainy and I had my heart set on a food truck party.
I decided to host it at the Seattle Children’s Museum because it’s been pretty easy to throw our birthday parties there and they have such cool vendors upstairs in the Armory.  Many of them actually started out as food trucks and they’re all Seattle homegrown so it was almost exactly what I wanted for a street food party anyways.  I also thought the museum would be great for the kids who usually come with their parents-the kids would be entertained and the parents could socialize.

Skillet made some really awesome burgers and poutine.

Big food made some yummy sandwiches and I loved their festive picnic wrap.

Mod pizza (they’ve been an awesome help with our parties before) rolled in with their cute little pizzas in boxes.

And my sis and her hubby helped me out with set up and scooping Molly Moon‘s sundaes to go with the delicious mini pies from Sweet and Savory Pie.

I also absolutely loved the help we got from Prive Events.  Megan our bartender was amazing and I loved how she set up our bar, knew exactly what I expected for this event and had fabulous suggestions for things we didn’t think about.

My sis and I made cookies for a little welcome favor.

And we had fun putting together bouquets from Pike Place Market flowers.  (would you believe these cocktail table centerpieces were made for less than $6 each?)

The pop of color on the tables came from a neat Target find-a disposable table runner/placemat on a roll for ($2) and some paper we bought at Paper Source.
I was very pleased with how things turned out and I think our guests had a pretty good time.  It was cool that we were able to host a Street Food party without the stress of weather and getting our house ready.  Thanks a ton Seattle Children’s Museum and all the lovely vendors who made our night a success!

  1. Looks like a fabulous party you put together and the food sounds delicious. I didn’t know Skillet makes poutine. Is it on their regular menu? I had a burger during my visit in May and it was the bomb! And you know what I think about Molly Moon’s – what flavours did you get?

    1. Early Grey tea, coffee and vanilla for the kids. Kind of a play on a coffee/tea bar idea. And yes Skillet makes really yummy poutine. Next time you come we’ll go:)
