Cabin shopping on a Monday when I should be buying for back to school

Spread the love

I guess it’s the 11th hour and I haven’t bought the perfect lunchbag or my guys’ first day of school outfit, but my inbox is full of a couple winter sales and I can’t help but look forward to this winter because I’m so excited about our cabin project.  (And I’m trying to avoid thinking about the first day of school…oh my goodness, how are both my babies going to school ALREADY????!!!)

We popped in this past weekend and the land has been excavated and the concrete has been poured.cabin in the woods

It’s hard to imagine now, but one day we’ll have a roof over our heads up here!

We’re definitely not going to be finished this winter, but Dru Bru, the brewery in Snoqualmie Pass is coming together quite well and it looks like it will be ready to try out soon and it’s fun to watch the other buildings in the area that are being built too.  This is a really cool community so close to Seattle!
The hubby has been researching kids skis ever since we bought our land and we might have made the mistake of buying used skis at the end of last season because he saw an awesome deal on skis and bindings for kids at Evo Gear today!  (I think we paid the same price used….)

But he did buy some awesome adjustable ski boots.

He found great reviews on these Roces Idea adjustable kids ski bootsthat kids can wear from size 13-3 so maybe we can use them for a few seasons. (How on earth do kids feet grow so fast!!??)

columbia bugaboo pants
We also bought kids’ waterproof snow pants from Columbia. I’ve really been loving shopping online from them recently because they have good quality mosquito-repellent clothing-(I just bought this jacket too!) which is a must with boys who are always outdoors and the stuff we’ve bought from them has lasted nicely. We also love their greater rewards members club for free shipping and points that add up to free gift certificates and Columbia even does this amazing thing where you can ask for your items to be sent in a re-used box that helps make shopping online feel just a little less wasteful.

And with all this winter purchasing, I thought I was ahead of myself, but then I saw this advent calendar at Toys R Us yesterday and realized I might not be the only one looking ahead…

Are you shopping stuff that is NOT back to school today? I’d love to hear what you’re buying;)  And are you ready for back to school with your kids?

  1. That’s exciting progress on the cabin! It’s the eve before school and I don’t really feel ready but here we go :). It’s going to be a way earlier start than we’ve been getting this summer. Hope your boys have a great year!

    1. Hey Colleen, good luck this year:) My guys head to school tomorrow too and I am a little sad our adventures are on hold for a little while. Best wishes for a great week to you too! It sounds like you’re getting settled well in the Northwest:)
