Some good things you can think about in Seattle on a Monday

Spread the love

If you are in Seattle on Thursday, the 25th of February 2016 this is a really easy way to give back to the community by merely dining out. The event is Nom Nom Seattle and it’s a one day fundraiser that benefits four Seattle-area nonprofits that empower kids to live healthy lives including Pike Place Market Child Care and Preschool, the Beecher’s Pure Food Kid’s Foundation, Green Plate Special and Upower. They even have a family-friendly list of restaurants if you’re planning on dining out with your kids. I will definitely be using this day as a great excuse to eat out with my family and I hope I run into you dining out for good too!

Hello Kitty Hungry Hunt Seattle

If you love Hello Kitty like I do there is also another reason to dine out in Seattle. Some adorable Hello Kitty themed food will be popping up in Seattle over the next few weeks until March 18th to celebrate Hello Kitty in Seattle through a “HUNGRY HUNT”. Participating restaurants include Trophy Cupcakes and Japonessa and if you order the Hello Kitty food or beverage item at these restaurants it also comes with an adorable special edition pin. I’ll be dining at one of these places soon and I’ll let you know what I think!

I am Malala book

And even if you don’t live in Seattle, on Feb 29th the National Geographic Channel is showing a commercial-free release of “He Named Me Malala” at 8pm ET/7PM CT and I’m thankful for the opportunity to be able to use my social influence for good and I’m trying to help get the word out. I am in awe of this amazing young woman and I can’t wait to hear more of her story-I’ve bought her book and I’m frantically trying to read it before next Monday.  I’ll definitely be watching on the 29th and I’d love to hear if you’re going to too!

As for today, I’m adjusting to re-entry into the mom world after a few days away in Salt Lake City for a blogging conference. I’m excited to update you on a few neat places I explored, but for now I’m unpacking, tidying and looking for coffee.  Do you have any awesome plans this week?
