Cinco de Mayo, Qdoba and an easy way to bring home a feast

Qdoba taco in Seattle
Spread the love

Don’t you just love guacamole? I whisper in my kids’ ears as I tempt them to go out to dinner with me.  They want to stay home for dinner and I DO NOT WANT TO COOK.  Thankfully errands bring us to the Qdoba near Uvillage in Seattle (The “University Plaza” location) where the hubby and I tried out a new menu a few months ago.  I’ve been wanting to bring the kids back ever since.  They have a kids’ meal and I was curious how they’d like it.

The kids’ meal here has a choice of taco, nachos or quesadillas. But unlike so many places that just give kids a meal that comes in various shades of tan, here they get ALL THE COLORFUL TOPPINGS with their protein choice.  Guacamole!  Tomatoes!  Sour Cream!  Shredded lettuce!

Ordering with kids at Qdoba

This beautiful taco is a kid’s meal!

And my kids liked it so much we ended up ordering more tacos.  I have a feeling that we are reaching the point where my guys are going to eat my fridge’s contents faster than I can refill it.

So for dinner on Cinco de Mayo or not Cinco de Mayo, I am thankful for Qdoba for a healthier alternative to traditional fast food.  And because my kids like this kind of meal it’s the kind we can share with friends too.  I heard that Qdoba has catering-you can order a buffet and bring it home.  I’m excited to try this out with friends.

I even saw a bunch of catering meals waiting for their families to pick them up while we dined.  I saw plates and cutlery and all the things you need if maybe the cloudy day we were having in Seattle turned into brilliant sunshine and instead of eating at home you wanted to have an impromptu picnic with friends in the park.

Would your family like to try Qdoba catering too?  I have a $100 Qdoba catering gift certificate that should cover you for a 10 person Taco Bar.  If you’d like to try this please comment below with your favorite taco toppings and I’ll pick a name on May 15th.  My favorite topping is definitely guacamole.

(PS. I received a gift card to try a taco bar for the purpose of this review but it didn’t come in time for Cinco de Mayo so I purchased the food in the pictures and my family enjoyed it.  I was not required to review and these thoughts and opinions are my own.)

    1. Hey Portia, Congrats you have won the Qdoba Taco bar. Look for an email from me. Thanks!

  1. Queso for sure! That stuff is so good you could probably just drink it! Guacamole is a close second though. I love Qdoba!

  2. I sure love guacamole! Looks like you guys had a nice dinner and Happy Mother’s Day to you Terumi!

  3. My favorite taco topping is lettuce. I know that might sound lame but I love the extra crunch you get after biting through the shell and then another crunch of lettuce!

Your post has me so hungry for tacos and it’s only breakfast time!

  4. Cilantro and scallions. Can’t wait to introduce my 8-y old to Mexican food.
