Extraordinary Desserts (Little Italy, San Diego)

Spread the love

We just came back from San Diego, and if there’s one place I wish I could pack up in my suitcase and bring home, this would be it.  Extraordinary Desserts.  Don’t mistake its name for boastfulness, it’s just plain honesty-I’ve never seen such amazing desserts anywhere.  We were on our way home from another great San Diego Find (Fillipi’s Pizza Grotto if you must know, but more on that later) and I ran out of the car to get dessert for the hubby and I while he entertained the pizza/pasta filled duo. And this is what I saw:

Multiply that by five or six cases, racks of gorgeous books, cards and goodies and cue heavenly music, acapella voices singing ‘ahhh’ and Twilight’s Edward’s radiant sparkles.  Sadly, a small part of me remembered that my husband might not be in such a happy place and I had to make a quick decision.  I settled on one of those gorgeous little bundt cake things in the bottom of the picture and this strawberry shortcake I managed to snap a picture of before I (we) devoured it after the kids tucked in for the night.

I wish we could say we shared them with our two boys who adore desserts as much as we do.  But we didn’t.  And now we’re rotating shifts at the gym while the duo naps blissfully.

  1. The desserts look great, but it’s the kokeshi in the background that caught my eye. Do they sell the kokeshi there, too?
