How to calculate how many days you’ve lived

Spread the love

I guess these are the kinds of things you think about when your guys are almost four years old.  I was at the park today and met a father who told me his kid was 21 months old-which sounded a lot like almost two years old and hearing this made me wonder when the hubby and I stopped counting the months and just started saying the boys’ years.  And then I wondered when did all of us grownups at the park start being decades rather than just years?  And how many days did all those years come from?

So the more I wondered, the more I started thinking about how many days the guys have actually been around?  The math was a little troubling at first: do you multiply 365 by three or by four?  Do you really need to count the first year when it just goes by in a blur? So I googled it to make sure I was doing it right.  Apparently when you’re four you’ve lived 1461 days.

This site makes it simple.  Plug your numbers in.  Take a peek.  And though I’m not going to share my own number, it made me feel a little wiser to know I’ve lived thousands of days rather than just my decade. (Remember, I’m 29 and holding just like so many of you out there.) It also makes me want to savor each and every day with my little guys all the more.  All the days count a little more when you calculate days, and not months and not years.

(Oh babies, I can’t wait to celebrate 1461 days of living with you!  You make me feel like the luckiest mom in the world!)
