Lunchdate at Dahlia Lounge (Seattle Restaurant Week!)

kid-friendly seattle restaurant week
Spread the love

Next week is round 2 of restaurant week in Seattle and I do hope you get a chance to check it out if you’re anywhere near Seattle from October 21-25.  We managed to slip in a yummy lunch at oh so swank Dahlia Lounge this week.  I’m not sure if they’d swoon over being touted as kid-friendly but they do have lovely booths that make for easy lunching with a little companion.  And they do have a kids’ menu meaning children are at least expected/tolerated/allowed.

The Bean was quite pleased with his kids’ cheese plate which at 12 dollars nearly matched the price of my 3 course meal.  (But it was oh so worth it, he nearly devoured it all.  The crackers were yummy because they were salty and didn’t ‘crunch’ and the cheese was ‘creamy’ and ‘smooth’.  His words not mine-can I be hopeful that he’s a budding foodie?)

And my salmon?  It was oh so divine.  I am so in love with farro right now (it’s the grain under my salmon) and I loved that it was part of my meal.

This was such a fabulous lunch.  And if you have kids in tow, the Steelhead Diner and Wild Ginger who are also part of restaurant week both have great kids’ meals.

(PS. this is my photo submission for Photo Friday on DeliciousBaby.  This was definitely something delicious even though it is more of the staycation type of submission.

(PPS. for the 364 or so other days we don’t get to go to Dahlia Lounge for lunch, the hubby often stops at their bakery for the potato bread for us to munch on with dinner.  It is probably my favorite bread in Seattle.  The Olive loaf at Columbia Bakery is second and the shokupan at Fuji Bakery is 3rd.  I heart our Seattle bakeries!)

  1. Looks and sounds like a wonderful meal! Seems like more and more cities are having these restaurant weeks to celebrate local cuisine – fabulous idea, I think!
