Two sweet kid-less lunches in Seattle

Spread the love

My mom and I have spent the past few days having lunches around Seattle and it’s been divine.  I may have to ressurect my running plan if we keep this up but for now, I’m just loving being cozy and eating yummy food.

dumplings at Ba Bar in Seattle
The other day we stopped in at Ba bar and my favorite dish was a simple plate of dumplings filled with mung beans.  I expected them to be like pot-stickers or gyoza but they were surprisingly mochi-like and delicate.  I also enjoyed my mom’s congee so much that I’ll order that next time for sure.  (I think this is going to be on our favorite restaurant list.  It was reasonably-priced and interesting and I think the kids might have been okay here for lunch but I’m not sure about dinner.)

Sitka and Spruce
We also went to Sitka and Spruce and their window was very fall festive and I am now looking for interesting sticks to incorporate in my home decor.  I loved the plums on my cheese plate and the crackers reminded me that homemade tastes better and now I’m browsing recipes on pinterest. I could have licked the panna cotta plate clean but I decided it would not be appropriate.

And I loved an excuse to shop at all the sweet Melrose Market stores after we dined.  I finally made it into Butter Home and I could have spent a lot more time there.  We may or may not have picked up a few things, but I’m not posting them here yet.

These past few days have been wonderful.  I wish I could spend more days like this with my beautiful mom and I’m very thankful for the time we’ve had together.

  1. Terumi, I came across your blog by pure chance but when I saw Emerald City I knew I had to check it out! Seattle is my favorite place in the whole world. Ok, I haven’t been around the whole world yet but until another destination can uproot it, Seattle remains #1. I live in Reno, Nevada. Your lunches sound fantastic and best wishes to you and your family! :_
