Next time we’re in California we’ll definitely show our #Disneyside

I was pretty excited to be chosen to host a Disneyside Party this year and I was sent a box of free products in order to host.  When I applied, I knew we were going to California for a wedding and the kids hadn’t been to Disneyland since they were little and I was excited to take them on the rides because we’ve been to other theme parks since our first trips and they are no longer scared of rides.  I decided we’d have some friends over who had been to Disneyland recently and get some tips on what to do when we were there.

We kept it pretty simple but I had my sis make some awesome cookies for us to nibble on while the kids played.

It turns out that we found out that we would not have enough time for what we wanted to do in Disneyland-we’d have to get a two-park pass for the one day and it would be a little expensive for our family of four because we would have had to leave early for a family dinner the night we were at Disneyland and we would miss too many things.  So we decided that when we go to California next, we will plan for a longer visit and get the 3 day pass so we can spread out the trip a little better, save a little money by not seeing both parks in one day and see all the things we want to see.  We might even stay at a Disney hotel so we can take advantage of the early magical mornings or get breakfast with Disney characters.  I remember my guys LOVED the Goofy breakfast when we went ages ago and I’ve read that there are a lot of new Disneyland experiencess on the horizon this year.

So for our next trip I found Disneyland tips at these sites here:

A little Tipsy

Trekaroo: I like the tip from this list about visiting in the first 2 weeks of December because it is festive.  I remember visiting Disneyland at Christmas and it definitely felt like a winter wonderland.

Ciao Bambino: This post entitled “Why plan a Disneyland Vacation instead of a Disneyland Day Trip” reinforces the need to stay longer at Disneyland and made me feel better about my decision to save Disneyland for next time.

And even though we didn’t go see Mickey Mouse this time, on our way home from California our Alaska Airlines flight attendant gave my guys Disney coloring books for helping out with a safety talk and they were thrilled.  I thought this was a pretty magical Disney moment on an airplane and it made me feel happy that my kids were treated so nicely so this sets us up well for when we actually go.

Have you been to Disneyland recently?  What time of year is the best to go and do you have any tips or readings that might help?

(PS. Thank you MomSelect and Disney Parks for the products in my Disneyside Home Celebration Box that I was sent for the party.  Of course the opinions expressed here are my own.)
