A Fun Family trip to Imperial Beach thanks to Expedia

Imperial Beach with Kids room at Pier South Resort
Spread the love

I’ve said it many times before but I’m a total fan of booking through Expedia.  This site allows me to consolidate my bookings in one place, cancel many hotel bookings without penalty and I’ve had some pretty great upgrades because of my VIP status.  I’ve booked so many times with Expeida that I know what to expect and I’ve even had them help out when I’ve been in sticky situations.  And no this is not a sponsored post-it’s actually me who has paid Expedia quite royally over the years so I thought I better give them props for helping me find a fun new place to stay in San Diego.  I don’t think I’d have found Imperial Beach without them.

Room at Pier South Resort

When I was looking for hotels in San Diego, the Pier South Resort in Imperial Beach popped up in my Expedia search.  It had reasonably-priced rooms with suites, a beach-front location and a beautiful pier nearby.  My kids could spend all day on the beach and I loved that I would be able to see the water from our room.

When we arrived, this place was truly more than I expected.  There were cute restaurants nearby (we ate at the Coronado Brewing Company and Katy’s Cafe) , the beach was perfect, the pool was empty (during spring break!) and we even saw seals and whales from our window.

Suzy's Farm is a short drive from Imperial Beach and fun to see with kids

We had fun exploring Suzie’s Farm, a really amazing working organic farm that we read about in the hotel brochure.  We learned a lot about how produce in grown in California and we picked and tasted some delicious fresh vegetables.  We also enjoyed hiking at the Tijuana Estuary and we drove to Coronado Beach and we picnicked and played on the glittery gold sand.  (Our sandwiches came from Which Wich and they were really tasty!  Their kid’s meal was fun too!)

We loved how booking this hotel opened up a brand new area that we wouldn’t have visited.  This was a perfect family trip to Imperial Beach!
