Sometime last year Country Dough snuck quietly into Pike Place Market in a cute little courtyard tucked behind the long and winding Piroshky Bakery line. (I do love Piroshky Piroshky and alternate between the garlic, onion and cheese and apple cinnamon and I noticed that they are doing a Valentine’s Box if you want one shipped anywhere in the United States!)
Country Dough makes Szechuan flatbread, crepes and noodles. I decided to try the crepe with the chinese donut inside for my first time in the restaurant. It was tasty and unlike any food I’ve had recently in Seattle so I really enjoyed my meal. I noticed people around me eating noodles in little packages that looked delicious and I know I’ll have to try them the next time I visit. Actually the next time I visit I’ll bring my husband so that we can order two different things and split.
There is not a lot of seating but the food is packaged nicely for take away and there are many nooks in the market where you can dine. The courtyard nearby has nice seating and a short walk away right near the Sound View Cafe is a covered public sitting area that has a priceless view of the water and the Great Wheel.
(PS this is another new restaurant I’ve tried for my Pike Place Market restaurant project where I’ll eat at a different market restaurant every week for a year. Do you have a Pike Place Market favorite? Have YOU dined at ALL the restaurants in Pike Place Market?!!)
(PPS. when I went I found a space at a window to eat, but I’ve heard the lineups can get quite long.)

I eat in the market every couple of months so I really appreciate you going through the restaurants so I can identify the ones I want to put on that list.
