Back to School?!!! Thank goodness here in Seattle we still have a few weeks to savor summer. We’re still in a sunshine groove and I love being free to do whatever we want when we want. I totally live for summer. BUT if I had to choose my favorite part of going back to school it’s back to school shopping and I love buying outfits and schools supplies for the kids (and for me!)
I have been looking for an excuse to go to the Osh Kosh store in North Bend on my way to our cabin so I popped in to see what you could buy with the $50 gift card I’m giving away (YES!!! I have a giveaway!) I do a lot of my shopping online so I don’t always go to actual stores, but this Osh Kosh is in a gorgeous mountain area and I had a 25% off coupon to use (and so can you!!) so this was a fabulous shopping day. Is there an Osh Kosh B’Gosh store near you?
I like buying versatile clothing for my kids because we travel a lot and I like sharing clothing between my twin boys so they get to maximize their outfits and not have to pack as much. Kids’ fashion is so stylish nowadays too so it’s really easy to mix and match. I bought a bunch of fun back to school clothing on my shopping trip to Osh Kosh and it came to a little more than $50 but not much and I used the coupon too. This is what my purchase looked like:
The first staple I picked out was the indigo dye jersey popover. I love the denim color and it is light-weight so it is perfect for the summer/fall transition and it’s the type of hoodie we usually like to pack when we travel because it is easy to carry around but still provides warmth in chilly weather. We brought it on our recent trip to London and my son said he noticed people around him wearing their sweaters tied around their neck so he styled it like that. I love how kids have their own sense of fashion and it’s amusing to see how this style evolves over the years.
My other son paired the same popover with a fun new shirt and shorts we bought from Osh Kosh B’Gosh last year. Printed shirts are an easy way to refresh an outfit and they are usually pretty reasonably priced. (I think this one was under 7 dollars when we bought it!) I also love that there is no itchy tag inside its neck. My guys always complain when their tshirts have tags so I was thrilled that this shirt had the label and sizing info printed directly on the shirt instead.
And we’ve had a little heat-wave in Seattle right now so there is no way either son will wear jeans willingly out of the house, but in a few weeks when fall weather shows up these jeans will be perfect and when I bought them they were on sale for $10 so I probably should have stocked up on a few extras for all the knee-sliding my guys do during recess. These jeans look great with the same popover and again layered over a printed shirt. I don’t see the planet shirt in the online store but this glow in the dark space ship shirt looks like it might be fun too!
I can’t wait to hear what you would buy with 50 dollars to Osh Kosh. I’m running a contest for a $50 gift card to Osh Kosh and if you are a US resident you can enter here until August 24th. I’d love to know what your favorite staple piece would be for back to school and if you find anything fun I didn’t see! (Especially toddler stuff. I am now an auntie of 3 little toddlers and I love finding clothes for these littles too!)
(PS. As stated above, this is a sponsored post, but the opinions, clothing choices and styling were my kids and my own.)
(PPS. You can use the coupon code for 25% off a $30 purchase online too with the code OKBG3136 and there are some restrictions like doorbusters and online exclusives but I always think coupons are worth a try. Happy shopping!)
