This year I’m facing a milestone birthday and I’m starting to feel like I’m really actually getting older. And even though I’m thankful for my years, I’m having trouble with some of the visible aging things. One of the hardest is the dramatic difference between the gray hair color of my roots and the rest of my dark hair-especially as the gray roots keep getting more and more plentiful. I also absolutely love my hairstylist and the magic she does to my hair but I’m getting to the point where I need to get my hair done almost monthly. Monthly!! It feels like I’m always there! And sitting in a salon for a few hours to fix my gray roots is time I can’t count on and time I don’t always have. Being able to do a temporary gray root touch up at home between my salon appointments is definitely something I need. I was thankful to hear about Gray Away Temporary Root Concealer Spray at Walmart and I really wanted to try it out.
What is Gray Away Temporary Root Concealer Spray?
Gray Away Temporary Root Concealer Spray is an instant temporary salon-quality root concealer that is great for gray root coverage. It is a spray that is fast-drying and sweat resistant and it washes out in one shampoo. I like it because when my gray roots start growing in I want something to help get me to my next hair appointment without having my hair appointments dictate my life. I tried the Gray Away for black/dark brown hair and I was happy that it actually blended with my hair color and made my hair look a little fuller too. The pinpoint applicator made it easy to spray targeted sections of my hair. The first few times I sprayed it a little too close to my scalp, but I quickly got the hang of it-if you read the instructions you should be fine. I got my Gray Away Temporary Root Concealer Spray at Walmart and you can also get it at CVS Pharmacy or Ulta as well. At Walmart you can use the ibotta app to get cash back on your purchase and save even more.
Gray Away Washes Out with Your Next Shampoo
Is anyone else trying to workout and exercise more? I was worried that maybe if I used the Gray Away Temporary Root Concealer spray before a workout I might end up with teary mascara-like streaks pouring down my face. So before I used it out in public, I sprayed a bunch in my hair and went about a morning exercise session at home to see what it would do. As you can see, I worked up quite a sweat! I checked my hair twice during the workout and my root color managed to stay and I had no telltale streaks. After my workout I washed my hair and then I could see my gray roots again so I sprayed my hair with Gray Away when it dried. Because it worked through my workout, I knew Gray Away would be a product I could count on for any event where I needed to temporarily cover my gray roots in a hurry.
Temporary Root Touch up for Special Events
There are always events that you want to have your hair looking good for pictures-I often have blogging events, things for my husband’s work, luncheons and family celebrations. I used the Gray Away Temporary Root Concealer Spray the other evening when my hubby and I got dressed up for a gala and I felt confident about my hair even though I didn’t get it ‘done’. I had such a busy week leading up to the event and only had a short time to get ready and l was thankful that having this spray alleviated some of the stress I felt about having my hair look good. I was able to hang out with my family the day of the gala and not worry about blocking out a whole bunch of time to get myself ready. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the time-saving aspect of the Gray Away spray for my busy lifestyle.
Gray Away Root Touch-Up Quick Stick for Travel and easy touch ups
For travel or when I don’t want to bring a spray with me, I also was able to try this Root Touch-Up Quick Stick that you can also get at Walmart. This one is in stick form but it’s also easy to use and easy to target gray roots. I like the idea of having something quick and simple to help me with my gray roots anywhere and this also takes the pressure off of getting my gray roots fixed before a trip. Eventually I’ll go back to the salon for a more permanent solution for my gray roots, but I’m thankful that Gray Away helps me take care of my hair on my own at home in between salon appointments. I’m especially thankful that I don’t feel the stress of having to get into the salon as often as I used to in order to look good and feeling like I have control over my own time also builds my confidence in aging happily too.
Do you have dark hair and gray roots? How long do you typically go between salon appointments and how do you keep your salon appointments from dictating your daily life? And are you celebrating a milestone birthday this year too?
