My Auntie Sal who lives in Vancouver BC is a huge fan of the Crabpot restaurant on Seattle’s waterfront and she has loved it for years. So of course she told my little niece and nephew about this restaurant and how much fun she has putting on her seafood bib, watching the seafood get dumped on the table from a big metal bowl, and hammering open crab legs with a teeny tiny mallet. When I asked my niece and nephew what they wanted to do in Seattle when they visited from Canada recently, they told me they wanted to eat at Crabpot and ride the carousel. Since they are four years old and have my heart wrapped around their fingers, whatever they want to do, we try to do.
Eating with family at the Crabpot Seattle Waterfront Restaurant at Miner’s Landing
Thankfully we know chef Nick who also runs the Fisherman’s Restaurant on pier 57. Chef Nick invited us to come and try the Royal Crab Feast. There are many different seafood “seafeasts” that you can have dumped on your table and the Royal Crab Feast is the most spectacular: there are four different kinds of crab! It was absolutely incredible and the kids loved seeing the great big feast on their table and they loved wearing bibs and hammering for their meal. Although the menu is primarily seafood at the crabpot restaurant, there are also other menu options if you have a group of diners who have different food preferences. It can even accommodate vegetarian and gluten-free. The kids’ menu also has a pasta option as well if your little one is not a seafood fan.
The Royal Crab Feast at the Crabpot Restaurant
Our group absolutely enjoyed our lunch and the Crabpot Seattle restaurant is such a great place for families. We had a big table and could look outside to the waterfront. The restaurant was crowded and bustling and summertime is such a great time to hang out in this area. The restaurant is very big and there are many different areas to eat in-where we were seated felt busy but not too crowded or noisy and it was easy to enjoy our meal. There was ample room for our big group to feel very comfortable.
The Carousel at Miner’s Landing on the Waterfront in Seattle
After lunch, the kids were so excited to ride the carousel inside Miner’s Landing. We usually go to the carousel at Woodland Park Zoo and I forgot that there was even one at Miner’s Landing. This carousel is such a gorgeous ride and there are other arcade games nearby that kids can play here too making the Crabpot Restaurant a great place to eat for families because you can stretch it out to be more than just a meal. If you have time, the Wings Over Washington is also a popular ride here that we are putting on our summer bucket list. The Pike Place Market is only a short walk away as well and it’s always a good place if you have some energy after lunch. And the Seattle Great Wheel is right outside the restaurant area too.
I’m so glad my Auntie Sal reminded my niece and nephew about Crabpot Seattle and I can’t wait for her to come down and visit soon so we can go back again together.
Have you been to the Crabpot in Seattle? Do you love restaurants where you get to wear a bib or do something fun while you eat? And when is the last time you rode a carousel?
