The Seattle Waterfront Shuttle is back. Here is the shuttle route for 2023 and it runs 7 days a week from 10am-8pm and approximately every 20 minutes. The shuttle season will run from July 17th 2023 to September 24 2023 and each shuttle has about 20 seats and are ADA accessible. There are two shuttle routes so make sure you check which route your shuttle is taking before you ride if there is a specific place you are trying to go. And as with anything make sure you check the site before you ride for any updates or schedule changes too.
Where does the Free Seattle Waterfront Shuttle go?
There are six stops on the shuttle route including Seattle Center and Space Needle, the Victoria Clipper/Sculpture Park, Pier 56, Pioneer Square, Stadium Street and King Street Station and Pike Place Market/Aquarium. The shuttle could be a great help if you are staying downtown or coming from a cruise ship.
Here are some things to do around each Seattle Waterfront Shuttle stop:
1)Seattle Center and Space Needle: this is also a great stop for Chihuly Garden and Glass, the Pacific Science Center, the coolest Seattle playground for kids, and the Seattle Children’s Museum. We often grab Mod Pizza at the Armory or take the Monorail to downtown Seattle.
2)Victoria Clipper/Sculpture Park: The Olympic Sculpture Park is one of our favorite places in Seattle for beautiful sculptures and incredible views. I often bike to meet my husband here on his way home from work. If you’re adventurous and find ride share bikes and scooters parked near here, you might want to take a ride along the waterfront to the Beach at Expedia Group. The Queen Anne Beerhall is about halfway along the ride and they have incredible pretzels.
3) Pier 56 gets you to the center of the Seattle piers where there are delicious places to eat, like Ivar’s or the Crabpot. Wings over Washington is on pier 57 and I haven’t tried it yet but people keep telling me I need to one day.
4) Pioneer Square: You can get a gorgeous cup of coffee at local roaster Caffe Umbria and meet for the Underground Tour and the Gold Rush Museum ( I can’t believe this is a National Park in the heart of our city). There is a not-so-secret UPS waterfall here that you might want to visit too.
5) Stadium Street and King Street Station-this is a perfect stop if you are heading to a game or concert at one of the stadiums or heading somewhere on Amtrak. You can also walk a short ways to the Chinatown International District and eat at Seattle’s oldest Chinese Restaurant. The Wing Luke Museum here is also a great stop and if you can get the best snacks and treats at Uwajimaya.
6)Pike Place Market/Aquarium: Seattle’s Aquarium is northwest focused and is especially good for families with small children. And Pike Place Market is a Seattle must, you just have to walk up the stairs from the stop and you’re there.
In addition to Seattle’s free waterfront shuttle, kids 18 and under ride public transit for free in Washington State too.
