If you’ve been following along with my blog for a while, you know I love robot made things in Seattle. Robot Cotton Candy. Robot Coffee. Even Robot Pizza (I will post this soon, I can’t believe I forgot to post this!). So I’m very excited we now have Robot Nails in Seattle with Clockwork Nails in Fairview Market. I made an appointment with my phone and stopped by on New Year’s Eve and it was such a fun way to end 2024. Also, I received a referral discount code for 20% off after my appointment if you want to try Clockwork Nails now too.
To be clear, a robot manicure is currently just painted nails
The Clockwork Nails robot that I visited is only for painted nails. It doesn’t cut your nails or file them or do anything with your cuticles. If you have painted nails already it has a fancy way of taking off your old polish. But I don’t think you can use it with gel nails- you’ll have to read this yourself on their site. When I went I pretty much just picked the nail color I wanted, placed a small container of it in the machine and then the robot used some kind of fancy technology to fill my nail much like the way cookie artists flood a cookie. ( I think a machine like this could be brilliant for cookie art technology too!). I did not see any options for nail art but I imagine this might be something that we might see with future nail technology. The whole process took about 20 minutes and I scheduled and paid upfront through the website.
Clockwork Nails is in Fairview Market in Seattle’s South Lake Union
Fairview Market is such a cool space. I worked with them a few years ago, and they have gotten a few new places to eat there since I’ve last visited. I really want to try Pizza by Ruffin and Bleuwiches (I was looking for sandwiches in the area recently and this location popped up).
And what is it like getting Robot Nails?
The best way to do it is probably experience it and it was only $15 for the appointment which seemed reasonable. I made a short video on instagram if you really want to see what it’s like before you go. And make sure you watch the video explanations they tell you to watch during booking or while you’re at the robot nails machine. I had my husband film me while I had my nails done so I wouldn’t mess them up. I am horrible at painting my own nails so I was impressed with the quality. I only wish it did the top coat too. And I’m curious about how the machine is maintained and kept clean. All the rules and explanations about how the machine works etc. are on the Clockwork Nails website. I booked my appointment on the same day and actually just an hour or so before I went.
