I always keep balloons on hand, just in case a little celebration sneaks up on you. Like Canada Day. (To our credit we camped in Canada until Canada Day Eve, but alas, we had to come home before the big day. C’est dommage.)
You break out the red and white balloons (And break apart a chocolate bar. Aero of course because you forgot to buy Coffee Crisp.)
Nosh on the Timbits you delight in every time you trek to the Motherland
And it’s a party. ( Even though the mountains of camping laundry is thrown in between.)
You try to make flags in yogurt out of cherries to make it look like you put some thought into it and made a plan. And though it does not look quite right you get an “eh?” for effort.
It’s Canada day and balloons and smiles are all you need.
Happy Canada Day to all our lovely family and friends! I hope you have a fabulous day and wish we could be up there celebrating today!
