Some weekends are more exciting than others and this one I’m truly ecstatic about. It might be because two of my favorite littles are coming for a visit. There is nothing cuter in my world than when the big twins and little twins get together.
Friday you might want to check out a fabulous night for a good cause. The Pike Place Market might still have some tickets left and I’m excited to see it all lit up at night. The Market Foundation supports so many fabulous things like a Food Bank, Senior’s Center and Preschool-it’s amazing that our city’s famous farmer’s market not only is a fun place to visit, but has an incredible community footprint too.
Saturday, I mentioned in a prior post that I’ll be heading to a fashion event in Bellevue and I’m really excited about the Star Wars photo booth.
There is also a great book release party on Saturday that you might want to go to if you have kids about my kids’ age. (That would be seven going on thirteen.)
We recently received the newest monkey book in a series by Matthew Porter and my kids adore it. The Rise and Fall of Oscar the Magician ties in with his last book and my kids picked up on the story line and found it absolutely clever. (They received the last book, the Thunderbolt Express last year and they read it all the time!) And to make it more adventurous, they read it in a tree.
The author, Matthew Porter is having a book release party with face painting and games and it should be a lot of fun! My guys are excited to hear how HE reads the book!
We are also looking for the Astronauts on the Town who are hidden in our city. We’ve found four so far, but there are 21 more. Are you on the hunt too?
And apparently the La Brea bread truck is in town doing a tour this weekend so it’s something else we’ll try and hunt for. I’ve grabbed their breads at the supermarket so it’s fun to see they’ve made a ‘food truck’ and are in Seattle this weekend too
And of course, we’re wearing our Blue today!
Do you have any big plans for the weekend?
(PS. I did receive a copy of the monkey book for review but I was not required to post or have my kids read it in a tree and these opinions are my own.)
