Do you love pens as much as I do? When I was in college, I had a job in our school store and I totally fell in love with all things stationery because I would see it everyday: pens, cards, erasers, EVERYTHING! This job was dangerous because all the pens always wanted to come home with me and I would end up spending so much of what I made on the new pens that arrived in the store. I remember when I first saw Pentel’s Milky pens. They could write on dark paper. They made my writing pop! They made it fun to take notes in class……and now Milky pens are back! And Pentel has also made some Sparkle POP pens and Solar pens that are really fun as well. Pentel sent me some pens to take with me on a recent trip and if you scroll to the end of this post, I have some fun pens to give away and I have a coupon too!
So when we travel and when we are home in Seattle we love taking our kids out to eat. If you’re ever in our city, this is my list of our favorite kid-friendly restaurants in Seattle. On our recent trip to Vernon, British Columbia we didn’t know how ‘kid-friendly’ some of the restaurants we visited would be so I brought my new box of pens along so the kids would have something to do. Pens and paper are our favorite form of entertainment when we are out because they are easy to carry and they don’t distract people around us in a restaurant. And as I look back on our travels, we’ve always brought pens and paper with us for the kids.
But now that we have THESE Pentel POP pens we have upgraded our restaurant entertainment. The MIlky Pop pens have cool pastel colors. The Solar pens are so bright you almost need sunglasses (well, practically almost) and if you have a blacklight, the ink will actually glow. One of my guys drew a bright yellow sun and we couldn’t believe how much the neon yellow popped on the page. My favorites are the new Sparkle pens because they have two tones of color when you draw on white paper and it makes me feel like I’m drawing in mermaid colors. I love how creative my kids got with their drawings and I love that they were thoroughly entertained with simple pens and paper. We could still have a conversation with them and they were contently creating while they waited for our meal. Even as our kids get a little older, when we are traveling and eating many of our meals out, it’s always nice to have something to do while we wait. One of my guys likes to fold paper paper airplanes and adding the decorating element with fancy pens also helps him to take more time on his creations.

Well, after reading this I definitely would like to try the Sparkle pens and I’m pretty sure my girls would too 🙂 There is nothing that beats the feeling of a smooth writing pen!
Those sparkle pens sound really cool but I know me and the girls are especially keen on anything that glows in the dark so the solar pens sound great too.
My girls would love the milky or sparkle ones!
Ooh, these would be fun for our kids to take on our big trip. I think they would enjoy the solar ones!
I think I would most enjoy the Solar Pentel POP Pens. #PentelPoP”
