Dole Whip and other yummy foods at two new food halls near Seattle

Dole whip and other foods at two new food halls near Seattle
Spread the love

I never set out to find Dole Whip when I stopped by some food halls near Seattle on a recent trip to Tukwila with Seattle Southside. But as I was standing in line for mochi donuts at Dochi (which are delicious by the way), I saw someone in line holding a Dole Whip at the nearby Poke shop and felt instantly like I was missing out. So last weekend while we were running errands, I managed to convince my family that we needed to do our errands in Tukwila and that while we were there I suggested that we might as well find some yummy foods to eat too, so we did.

Injera at Wuha at Spice Bridge Food Hall

I promised my family Dole Whip but we also needed lunch. The last time I went to Spice Bridge, I wanted to try a food from Ethiopia called Injera that students I taught a long time ago told me about, but the stall that makes it was not in the rotation for that day. (The food stalls in Spice Bridge rotate on a weekly basis so it’s important to check before you go if there is a particular stall you want to visit. Spice Bridge is also currently closed on Mondays.)

Luckily on this visit, Wuha, a stand with Ethiopian-American Food options was open and they had vegetarian Injera on the menu and I was so excited. I also over-ordered. The portions were so big we could have easily shared. It was so neat to watch the Injera being made and it was a very delicious meal. Wuha also makes gluten-free Injera and so if that is something that you’re looking for this is where you can try it too. They make a fantastic baklava as well.

Pancit Bihon from Wengay’s Kitchen at Spice Bridge

We can’t stop at Spice Bridge without getting a bunch of different things so this time we also picked up some Pancit Bihon from Wengay’s Kitchen, a stall that serves authentic Filipino food. The Lumpia looked so tempting too so of course we ordered that as well.

All these foods made for a perfect car picnic and we had such a good time trying many new-to-us things. I love that every time we go to Spice Bridge the choices change depending on the day we visit and there is such a heart-warming feeling of community here.

And finally Dole Whip at Go Poke from Lam’s Eatery Food Hall in Tukwila

The Eatery Food Hall in Tukwila also feels like a secret food hall because you can’t tell how big the building is from the entrance. But there are 5 or 6 different eateries including Vietnam House, Go Poke, Golden Daisy and Dochi donuts and they are all attached to Lam’s Seafood Market. There was also a dessert place that looked incredibly lined up that I need to go back to investigate. And of course the Dochi donuts always look so tempting.

But this time we were here for the Dole Whip.

(Do you love Dole Whip too?)

(PS. another food hall with delicious food and treats has since opened up in Seattle. If you like the above places, you might want to check out Asean Streat at Westlake Center in downtown Seattle as well. 400 Fairview in Seattle also has a few restaurants in a pretty cool space and easy outdoor seating.
