I just found out we don’t have to jump right into January for Seattle Schools-the Monday falls right after New Year’s so we get until Tuesday to start the year. So will this be the theme of our 2023 year? Can we actually ease into something in our city for once? Will we slowly sip and savor our almond milk half caff two pumps of house made locally grown lavender syrup lattes? Can we put on our Birkenstocks one woolen socked foot at a time?
So what are all the Seattle in January things?
Harlem Globetrotters (Jan 27th)
Last January my family will be going to see the Harlem Globetrotters for the very first time. The Harlem Globetrotters are coming back and will be in the Seattle area at Climate Pledge Arena on Jan 27th.
Lunar New Year at Bellevue Square starting Jan 16th
Lunar New Year this year celebrates the Year of the Dragon and the celebration will happen on Feb 3 at Bellevue Square . Until then there will be Lunar New Year decor starting on January 16th.
Asean Streat Food Hall
It feels like we haven’t been to Singapore in forever so I’m really excited about the Asean Streat Food Hall that opened up in Seattle recently. I’ve seen pictures and it looks like a fun and delicious addition to our Seattle food scene. (PS we went! It is really cool. And you can click through here for a video of the Asean Streat Food hall if you want to see what it’s like.
Hot Chocolate Festival in Vancouver BC (January 13-February 14th)
If you get a chance to head up to Vancouver BC….the Hot Chocolate Festival dates were just announced. This festival lasts from January 14th-February 14th and the hot chocolates businesses create for this festival around the Greater Vancouver Area are usually pretty incredible. I want to go to the one at Little Cafe on Robson-I had a round croissant and a drink there last year that was pretty perfect.
And other January Seattle things?
If you know of any other things to do in Seattle in January let me know and if you are looking ahead to February here are some February things to do. I also have a Seattle Restaurant list if you’re curious about places to eat while you’re hanging out in the city and a list of places you might like to stay at as well.
