For the past month I haven’t had any will to travel anywhere, the weather has been perfect and Seattle is just brilliant in the summer sunshine. So I have something like 14000 photos from the last 30 days stuck in my phone. About a hundred were of this little armadillo at the Point Defiance Zoo. They have so many adorable animals there!
We also visited Remlinger Farms and picked berries and rode the rides. (And we knocked it right off our bucket list Yes, we have a small bucket list this summer, but it’s helped fuel a few of our adventures when we didn’t know what to do.)
We also checked out the chocolate exhibit at the Mohai and the exhibit has a lot of interactive stations, but the most memorable feature is the amazing chocolate smell that engulfs you once you open the door.
And we had a lovely birthday at the Space Needle. This is such an amazing place for a celebration and Seattle Center is such a fun place in the summer.
Camping got knocked off our bucket list too. We camped at Willaby Campground on the Olympic Peninsula and I think it’s a great camping spot for kids. We really enjoyed hiking around the area and Quinalt lake is gorgeous, but I am still not a camper. I do love a roof over my head and my own bathroom. I think glamping might be more my style.
We’ve enjoyed our local beaches. Discovery Park is one of our favorites and it’s nice just to head there before dinner and get in an evening walk.
And when we want to switch it up, we’ve been bike-riding and our favorite ride is this one along the Seattle Waterfront. We love that Seattle Aquarium has early member mornings every Sunday until August 25th. This is one of the awesome-est membership perks I’ve ever seen.
So all this sunshine here has been absolutely amazing! Even the Sounders have been on fire and it’s been fun to watch the gorgeous sky change colors at their evening games.
But with the downpours we’ve been having the past two days, I’m starting to get some wanderlust and thankfully, my friend Keryn from walkingontravels hosts Friday postcards and I love looking at everyone’s travel pics for inspiration. With this current cool weather spill I’m hoping someone posts something tropical! Happy Friday!
