A few travel highlights from 2014 while I plan this year’s adventures

The hardest part of starting a New Year is saying good bye to the old one, especially if it was a good one and while other people are performing cleanses of the body detox sort, I’m purging my phone of the14000 photos I’ve managed to store there in the past year because I don’t want to let them go.  Last year was one of my favorites for travel because at 5 years old, kids are so cool to travel with and we explored some neat far away places in the beginning of the year and then stuck a little closer to home for the last half to places driving and ferry distances from Seattle that we found harder to explore when they were younger.

So here were a few of our favorites:

Kailua area hotel

renting bikes in Copenhagen with kids for 3 days outdoor adventures with kids

haystack rockkalaloch with kidsbrittania minestravel for kids who like trainswhy you should rent a car in iceland

This year we have our sights set on Belize and Guatemala and a return trip to Iceland and other parts of Europe as a well as a destination wedding in California and some trips closer to Vancouver, BC and our Seattle home.  My sister is having twins as well this year, so I’m trying to plan the trips around the arrival of my new baby niece and nephew.

There are so many awesome places to explore in the world and if you are headed anywhere you’re excited about in 2015 or if you’ve been anywhere recently that you can’t stop raving about, I’d love to hear.  Sometimes hearing other people’s incredible adventures is all it takes to get inspired and grab a little carpe dieum spirit.  Happy 2015 adventuring-it’s definitely time to say goodbye to 2014 and let it go…

  1. Great year! I hope 2015 is wonderful as well. Based on what you have planned, it should be. We are finally going to Yellowstone. Four years ago, I had it all booked but then had to cancel it as we unexpectedly moved to Malaysia instead. For Spring Break, the kids are going on their first cruise. It’s Disney, so it should be a blast for everyone.
