I happen to be the type of person who could probably kill plants just by looking at them, but every year I like to visit the Northwest Flower and Garden Festival and pretend that I could possibly be a garden whisperer and this keeps me totally happy all spring. This Northwest Flower and Garden festival is absolutely spectacular every year and this year it runs from February 19-23 in Seattle. I can’t believe how many over the top flower displays fit into the convention center and because of the dates this could even work as a last minute Valentine’s Day gift for someone special who loves flowers or gardens. I was given media passes to attend and also I have a giveaway for tickets on my instagram

I am always amazed at how this show transforms the Seattle Convention Center into a floral paradise-the displays are all constructed within 72 hours. There are also daily seminars and workshops and If you’re into specific garden ideas and local garden celebrities the list of speakers is here so you can make a plan for when you want to attend. Third Place books will be selling books (I love this too) and the list of when authors will be signing their books is also online here so you can plan before you go if this is important to you too.

Can Kids come to the Northwest Flower and Garden festival in Seattle?
I used to bring the guys with me to this show because it’s neat to see the gardens and kids 12 and under are free. One of my guys is especially into gardening and takes care of all of our indoor plants and has been taking care of them since he was very small. This year, like last year, there is a kid’s “treasure” hunt at the Northwest Flower and Garden festival so this is probably something I would have told them about back then and the reward is pretty cool so if you have kids you’ll want to check it out.
Blooms and Bubbles
Blooms and Bubbles is a new feature at the Northwest Flower and Garden Festive since last year-they are hands on workshops where you actually get to make something and take it home too-and my mom and I had a really great time doing a flower arranging class last year. They are an extra registration and cost and they do have the chance of selling out. This year there are also Traveler’s Tea workshops that sound like fun too. I love how this Northwest Flower and Garden Festival keeps expanding and brining in new interests along with the show.
Where to get discount tickets to the Northwest Flower and Garden Festival
If you know you’re going to go to the Northwest Flower and Garden Festival you can buy early bird tickets at various local nurseries in the area. There is a map of the nurseries that are participating. You might call ahead to see if they still have tickets before you go because quantities are usually limited. Also the Northwest Flower and Garden Festival instagram has been sharing a lot of giveaways for tickets and following them is a great way to learn more about the festival before you go too.
