When eating hazelnut spread is amore

Once Again Amore Hazelnut Spread
Spread the love

I was a little hesitant to try some chocolate hazelnut spread Moms Meet sent me to try and review because I was worried I might get addicted.  I read that it had no palm oil in it (I’m trying to avoid palm oil) and it comes from Italy so it sounded too good to be true.  When we recently visited Italy we drove through a dreamy area of Tuscany where the road was framed by acres and acres of hazelnut trees and we started to smell something deliciously chocolatey and arrived at a factory that made chocolate hazelnut treats.

Sadly, it was closed for the day.  We couldn’t pick up any souvenirs.

So this Once Again Amore Hazelnut spread has been so welcome in my house because I’ve been craving this taste ever since that trip.  Its aroma conjures up memories of driving through that Italian countryside and I love how fragrances and tastes can do that.  This spread is delicious on crackers and bread and I think it might be something I could pair with bananas and strawberries nicely too. I picked the kids up these turtle shaped breads from a bakery on a recent trip to California and the spread was devoured with the sourdough. (We tend to love edible souvenirs.)  I love that the Once Again Amore Hazelnut spread is more dark chocolatey tasting than what I thought it would be and it spreads with a consistency similar to natural peanut butter so I can use it sparingly if I want to and it spread out easily.  It has a few other nuts like almonds in it too, so you should definitely read the label if you have allergies, but I was glad to see it was gluten-free and certified organic.

I also loved learning that the Once Again company is Employee owned and I read that the byproducts of the nut butters are donated and used for animal and bird foods by farms which seems like such a great thing for a company to do. There is also an adorable story as to why they use a racoon for its label and I like companies that put this kind of thought into the things that they do.

I did not see a “refrigerate after opening” label on the spread and learned that It does not need to be refrigerated and you should use it up within 10 weeks after opening.  This hasn’t been a problem-we’re a few weeks in and have almost consumed a whole jar.  Just in case though, I write the day I open the jar on its lid so I know how long I can keep it so I don’t forget.  We are definitely in love with this “Amore” spread and I’m glad it’s easy to order when we run out.

(PS. as stated above I was sent this Once Again Hazelnut Amore Spread from Moms Meet to try and this is a sponsored post.)
