Spread the love

Have you ever spent this long at home before? I can’t believe how many days it’s been since we’ve been on a trip. But I also can’t believe how many days it’s been since the kids and I have not had to leave home at all. With all this forced inactivity, one of the things that is helping us get a better sleep at night is getting exercise. We’ve had a Nintendo Switch Ring Fit Adventure for a long time but we’ve been so busy we never used it. And then the kids were gifted a Dribble Up ball from their grandparents and now they’ve spent the past couple weeks trying to figure it out. I also asked on my instagram for some ideas for free home workouts and got a bunch that I know I’ll eventually add to my rotation. So if you are also stuck at home and need some ways to get some energy out, here are are the things we’ve tried so far.

What is Dribble Up and should I sign up for Dribble Up Live?

The Dribble UP ball is an app connected soccer ball that you can buy for about 100 dollars from their site online. It guides the kids through a bunch of soccer drills and the app helps monitor their progress. With two kids who are missing their soccer team so much this year, this is a good way to get them to practice some of the things they’re missing out on and the standings in the app helps keep them motivated. My guys like that you get points for the workouts and drills through the app and you can see your improvement over time. I want to try the Dribble Up Medicine Ball because it seems like it might add to my repertoire of ways to workout at home

Dribble Up also has Dribble Up Live and I finally signed up for it for my kids. There are live online workouts everyday and at the end of each class you can see how you did against other members who also do the live workout and it is helping one of my guys who is really competitive fill a bit of the void that sports used to hold. I wasn’t sure how much it would be when I signed up, but the first month for us was 99 cents and every month after is under $10 which seems pretty reasonable for the amount of workouts that my kids will probably use.

How good of a workout is the Nintendo Switch Ring Fit Adventure?

Believe me when I say you can get pretty sweaty with a Nintendo Switch Ring. We bought it ages ago and it sat in its box for the longest time because we’ve been on the go for the longest time with trips and work and trips for work. The guys have also been playing Smash Brothers so we haven’t really gotten the chance to use the Switch ourselves. But because we have so much time at home now, the hubby and I pulled it out last week to try it. The workout is pretty awesome. I did a bunch of squats and running on the spot and because it feels like a video game, it was easier to keep motivated. I have trouble sometimes focusing on doing the same thing over and over, so I’m having fun exercising with the Nintendo Switch Ring and it is easier to workout for longer than I usually do because it is fun.

A review about Dribble Up Soccer and Live workouts

At home workout classes in the Peloton App

Almost everyone we know have Peloton bikes but we already have an eliptical bike at home so I don’t want to splurge on of these yet. But we heard that the Peloton app has three months of free workouts where you don’t need the bike so we signed up. The hubby has done a few classes and I’m yet to try it. But I was doing CorePower Yoga online and it was $20 a month so because Peloton has yoga classes too I cancelled to save $60. Do you have a favorite Peloton App class? I’ll let you know my favorites when I try this one out.

And some awesome online Exercise ideas from my Instagram Community

I’m such a fan of the community that Instagram creates because I learn so much from other people through this platform every day. When I was looking for exercise classes and ways to workout at home, I mentioned it in a photo caption and I got some really good ideas that I thought I should share.

BakerFamAdventures mentioned Blogilates who has youtube videos and workout calendars. Dessert.geek shared that Barre3 classes are pretty awesome and I’ve done some of their in-person classes before. Right now they are giving a 15 day trial free and offering $29 a month after that. And Lotustatto19 said that Do Yoga With Me is an excellent yoga resource too so I need to try this one out. A friend also suggested the Nike Training Club App which is also free right now.

Are you trying to exercise while you’re staying at home too? Do you have any favorite online exercise workouts or Apps?
