This is a sponsored post on behalf of Waterfront Seattle to help share information about the online open house for Pier 58 and as always the thoughts and ideas in this post are my own.

Hey Seattle friends and visitors to this site who are curious about the new and exciting things happening on Seattle’s Waterfront. There are definitely a lot of awesome projects that are starting in the next little while and especially on Pier 58.

In late 2022, construction is scheduled to begin and it should take approximately two years to build the new Pier 58 in between the Seattle Aquarium and Miner’s Landing . This pier has been designed especially with families and young children at the forefront of the planning and it is going to be an incredible waterfront park.

Back in January you might remember this post where I invited Seattle families to participate in a survey to help guide the planning for the new playground on Seattle’s Waterfront. This playground is going to be an integral part of the Pier 58 design and you can see the winning playground here on the Pier 58 Online Open House until August 16th. The marine-themed playground will have a four-level jellyfish tower and an 18-ft slide. With the expansive views from the park of the water and glassy downtown buildings, I am so excited for Seattle kids to have such a breathtaking and scenic place to play.

For now when we visit Seattle’s Waterfront, we’ve been spending a lot of time on Pier 62. Sometimes we bike there from our home or sometimes we drive and take out a meal from one of the nearby eateries and head to the tables overlooking the water. The last time we visited, my guys were really excited about a grass turf area set up in the middle of the pier. They had so much fun playing soccer in such a cool place surrounded by cruise ships, water and tall downtown buildings. I can only imagine how much more inviting park space there will be once the Pier 58 project is done and I am so thankful to be able to watch this park and pier being built in the heart of our city.
