This is a sponsored post on behalf of 400 Fairview in Seattle WA and as always the thoughts and opinions on my blog are my own.
I was recently invited to check out 400 Fairview in Seattle. This property is located in the heart of South Lake Union and is a combination of local retail shops and restaurants and flexible workspaces in a 14 floor LEED building. I’ve only popped in for mochi donuts before but this time I spent a few days hanging out to get a feel for the businesses in this space. A friend and I even rode her ebikes to get breakfast coffee from Caffe Ladro one morning and with easy places to lock our bikes out front it is a good destination for a bike ride if you’re in Seattle too.
You can get Lobster Rolls at 400 Fairview
Right now in Seattle what you probably really want to know is that in 400 Fairview is a place called Bar Harbor where you can get photogenic and tasty lobster rolls that are very popular. I’ve never had a lobster roll and don’t eat a lot of lobster but when the lineup for a place starts before it even opens and the people lined up in front of you order the lobster rolls then I think you need to try them too. Have you ever had a lobster roll? They make a really incredible sandwich. I still want to try the burrata salad at Bar Harbor but this was a really fun “I joined in the hype” lunch and I’m thankful I joined in.
Mbar has a great rooftop deck if you’re looking for places to eat outside in Seattle
I wasn’t able to get to Mbar in time for this review but we often get takeout from Mamnoon Street (another restaurant in the nadimama family of restaurants) and Mamnoon is another favorite of ours so I know we will love Mbar too. I’ve seen pictures of the patio and it looks amazing, it just doesn’t open until 4pm so it was closed on my other visits to this space.
And are you looking for a floral gift?
I ended up finding the most perfect vase at Verde and Co in 400 Fairview. The flowers in this store are really exquisite and one of the mornings a florist was arranging a few tropical bouquets and the whole store felt a little like Hawaii. I also picked up a really beautiful flower bouquet (they even have subscriptions). And if you are looking for a local Seattle gift that isn’t chocolate, or fresh flowers, this Urban Gardener Gift Set is really thoughtfully put together.
Or if you’re trying to find Bespoke eyewear
There are some really cool glasses on display at Urban Optix. You can make an appointment to visit and there was a note in the store that said that everything on the shelves were sanitized too. You can get eye exams here as well.
And do you love mochi donuts?
I’ve been so excited about mochi donuts in Seattle especially since we haven’t been able to get to Mr. Donut in Japan for way too long. Mochi Nut is a chain that originated in Hawaii and is now in many locations across the USA as well as some listed on the website as “opening soon” in South Korea and Thailand. The one in 400 Fairview did not have Korean Rice Flour hotdogs or bubble tea on the menu when I visited but it looks like you might find these things at other locations.
Also cross your fingers for convenient grocery shopping and poke
Kai Market by Uwajimaya is listed as temporarily closed and I’ll keep checking to see if there is any movement in that space when I am in the area. We love shopping at Uwajimaya and having a closer neighborhood store would be really exciting. I’m sad we never got here before this one shut its doors, and I can’t wait until it opens up again.
When you need really reliable coffee
Ladro Roasting has been around in Seattle now for a long long time and you can even order ahead if you are on your way. They have a drink on the menu called a ‘medici’ and it has orange peel, hot chocolate, chocolate syrup and espresso in it and it’s decadent and perfect for fall.
400 Fairview feels spacious and has many outdoor areas to sit and catch sunny Seattle fall days. We take these days for granted sometimes, and grabbing a sandwich, mochi donuts, coffee and flowers on a bright and glorious day in this city is one of the most perfect things in the world we can do. I’m so glad I had a chance to visit and I’m looking forward to going back again.
