I almost forgot it was Mother’s Day on May 8th this year-usually it seems like it’s later in the month. If you are looking for some last minute gift ideas for Mother’s Day in Seattle this year, I have a few that you might want to try.
Kitchen and Market
Kitchen and Market has a Mother’s Day brunch that I actually bought for myself for the kids to make me this weekend. The proceeds from this kit go to support Mary’s Place which is a cause I’ve supported over the years. If the brunch is sold out, you could get a meal kit for another week. We have frequented Kitchen and Market often since I was introduced to them last year and anything that helps me with making meals is something that is a life-saver.
Inn at Langley
Last month I saw that Inn at Langley had a Mother’s Day special and if this month wasn’t so busy it’s something I’d want to do with my Mom and sister, so I wanted to remember it for next year. The Inn at Langley was one of our favorite places we’ve stayed in the past couple years and they have gift certificates on their website, so this might be a great last minute gift idea too.
Pike Place Market
Pike Place Market is having their annual Mom’s Day in the Market on May 7th (this is the Saturday before Mother’s Day not the Sunday). They also have a list of things on their website for Mothers Day in Seattle that can give you ideas as well. Pike Place Market is also having a virtual event on May 12th called Celebrate the Market and they have take home meals for that event that you can pre-order that would make a fun gift idea/experience gift too.
Chocolates in Seattle
Seattle has its share of chocolate factories and some of them you can even visit. Spinnaker Chocolate is relatively new in Seattle for chocolate and they have a Mother’s Day box this year.
Or maybe cookies are a good idea for moms in Seattle for Mother’s Day?
We have so many cookie shops in Seattle too. Bells Cookie Company even ships across the United States so you can give a local gift even if mom lives farther away.
Candles you can buy or make with mom
I’ve noticed quite a few places in Seattle where you can make your own candles and a friend and I went to Noir Luxe Candle Co recently and had a great time choosing our own scents and designing our own candles. You can buy candles and ship them directly from the website or you can book a time and come in and make them yourself-the process takes about an hour or so and we wandered to Seattle Center while our candles set and cooled. This is definitely something I’d like to do with my mom one day. Maybe we’d even go to Chihuly Garden and Glass while we waited for a really art-filled afternoon.
I’ll keep updating this post as I find more ideas and if you have ideas for Mother’s Day in Seattle this year too, please let me know.
