Just like Halloween and Christmas start slowly sneaking into summer, annual advent calendars start popping up earlier and earlier every year too. I’m not sure what I’ll be doing for this year’s calendar yet but there are a few that have caught my eye. I’ll add the ones I see to the list below and feel free to send me ideas if you see them or tag me in your instagram posts if you see one I should check out. I’m always hoping we see some fun local calendars in Seattle ( specifically maybe one from Beecher’s cheese or a food themed one from Kitchen and Market or Delaurenti, or even one with all our sports teams, now wouldn’t that be awesome….)
Sugarfina Candy Carousel Advent Calendar 2024
Sugarfina has a 24 tastes of Christas advent calendar this year. You can also buy it in a duo or trio to get a discount. I like the whimsy of their packaging and they make delicious candy.
A cheese Advent Calendar from Murray’s Cheese!
I first tried Murray’s cheese at the Real Simple weekend last year where we were making cheese plates and I hope we see this advent calendar in grocery stores, it’s such a great idea. The Murray’s Cheese Advent calendar is also a 12 day calendar so it’s good for an early December gift too.
Beekman 1802
Beekman 1802 has the loveliest There’s No place Like Home advent calendar out. They first started putting out advent calendars in 2018 and theirs have been some of my favorites. This year’s has a story theme about Goatie and also includes some new skincare launches which I think is a great idea. I have a lot of skincare products right now so I might not be buying this one, but definitely intrigued.
Sock Advent Calendars
Target is always good for a more reasonably priced sock advent calendar. I just noticed that Paper Source has a 12 day sock advent calendar too this year. The most intriguing sock calendar to me is the Happy Sock advent calendar-it’s definitely spendy but it’s a fun way to get socks for the upcoming year. (Or gift to friends while you open the calendar too)
Fab Fit Fun
I actually ordered the Fab Fit Fun calendar because it promises 12 full sized ingredient things and they did not publish what they are. I’m a sucker for things that are a mystery so and I like that this is a 12 day calendar and not one that is a full 25 days (sometimes opening all these boxes in the holiday season can be overwhelming) If this one comes early enough I might use it to count down to the election just to give myself a sense of something to look forward to in what is likely going to be a stressful feeling countdown. I’m also tempted to pair this one with the 12 day calendar from Kitsch and then this could be a full 24 day countdown too.
Advent Calendars with a Food Theme
The Bonne Maman Jam Advent Calendar is usually the first calendar I find out about ever year. I’ve never ordered it, but I have bought their jam a lot and this would be a very useful and fun type of calendar because they also include special jams you can’t usually get in your grocery store.
I saw a Ryokan themed advent calendar in my inbox from Sakura Co which reminded me I need to update this advent calendar list for 2024. We stayed at a Ryokan in Japan this year and I think this would be a great way to remember the trip.
Harry and David has an advent calendar for 2024 too.
LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar 2024
We don’t collect many things but LEGO is an exception in this house and we have bought many of these LEGO advent calendars. I most recently saw this at Costco where they apparently most likely have the best prices on this one.
A puzzle advent calendar
This might actually help people who feel like they need to sit down and do a whole puzzle- in this puzzle advent calendars you get a small section of pieces over time. I’ve heard that people make this kind of advent calendar themselves too-you buy a puzzle and do the puzzle then divide it into smaller sections and you can put them in envelopes (and maybe even 12 days instead of 24).
A sharing chocolate advent calendar
We have twins who have had to share so much in their lives. I love that the Dandelion Chocolate calendar (this is a chocolate company we’ve visited in San Francisco and I spotted a Japan location too) has a sharing option that you can add on to their exquisitely beautiful advent calendar. Their 2024 calendar looks beautiful.
I am waiting to see if there will be a local Seattle Advent Calendar from Heritage Distilling
This was last years calendar form Heritage Distilling’s and this one had 24 days of whiskey, rum, vodka and gin. If you are in Seattle, Heritage Distilling also has a tasting room in Ballard and I’m curious if they’ll have a 2024 advent calendar too.
A Made in Issaquah chocolate advent calendar from Boehm’s
Have you ever stopped or driven by Boehm’s in Issaquah on your way from Seattle to Snoqualmie Pass? Boehm’s had a chocolate advent calendar for 2024 and I! One day I also want to do one of their tours-this would make a great experience gift.
Fran’s Chocolates also has an advent calendar refill package if you have a refillable one
Fran’s Chocolate, a local Seattle company we absolutely can’t not visit when we are at Uvillage has not put out their calendar for 2024 yet but last year they had a snowman advent calendar this year that looked splurgy and delicious but the more intriguing thing to me is that they also have an advent calendar refill package too. I have an empty one that I got from Starbucks ages ago that I can’t bring myself to part with but I’m forever forgetting to get the things to fill it up and Fran’s makes such delicious chocolate and it might even be a bit more environmentally friendly to reuse.
Are you also looking for ways to countdown to the holidays. Feel free to message me below or on instagram if you see a calendar I should check out!
