Audain Art Museum in Whistler (for free)
Spread the love

I checked Whistler for the kids’ mid-winter break and it looks like all of Seattle must be headed there. The prices are sky high! I think President’s Day now coincides with BC’s family day holiday so this is one reason why it’s getting more difficult to visit the area during that time. But there are still a few deals that might be able to help with costs and the Whistler Audain Art Museum there is one of our favorite places to visit in the area as well. We usually check for Amex deals from the Fairmont Whistler and Four Seasons Whistler because those give us late check out so even if we are only there for one night we can get two ski days in.

A Seattle Art Museum Patron Membership is a very good idea for Seattle families

The specific membership you need to get into the Audain Museum for free from Seattle is the Patron Membership at the Seattle Art Museum. It just got added to a list of reciprocal museums near the end of 2022 and I know I was one of the first people to use the benefit. (I was first told it was not reciprocal and then told I was one of the first people to use it and that is how I know.) We stayed at the Whistler Fairmont Hotel in the summer and walked over and kids under 18 are free. Two adults can enter the Whistler Art Museum under the Patron Membership reciprocal benefits. Otherwise two adults would be a total of $40 Canadian to enter the Audain Whistler Art Museum.

The Seattle Art Museum Patron Membership was also useful on our New York trip this past summer where we used it at both the Whitney Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art too.

And a few other new things I want to see in the Whistler area

I really want to check out Rockit Coffee the next time I’m in Whistler. It looks like an incredible space from what I’ve seen on Instagram. I’m also really curious about a chocolate factory in Squamish called Schoki Chocolate but I’m not sure they have an actual factory space yet or if they are just selling in retail locations. And I saw a honey factory in Squamish called Alpine Honey near a new set of Superchargers the last time we visited but it wasn’t open yet. When we first started driving electric there were only one set of chargers on the route from Vancouver to Whistler but every time we’ve visited since new chargers have opened up. I’m curious to see what new chargers will be open on our next trip as well.
