Things to Do in Seattle in February

the friends experience in Seattle
Spread the love

Did we just survive the longest month ever and are we going to blink and have February disappear too? It still feels like we might get one more weather system before all the cherry blossoms start to pop but you might want to start keeping an eye on the UW cherry blossom forecast here. And just in case you have time in Seattle in February there are a few things happening this month that you might want to check out if you’re in the city.

Cherry blossoms at UW in Seattle

Northwest Flower and Garden Festival mid-february

I hope you went to this one- it’s such an epic festival and the displays are spectacular. This is a bit of how it looked in 2024. If you’re already looking for tickets for next year local nurseries like West Seattle Nursery usually get tickets a month or two before the show and might have discounted prices too.

Skiing and Snow-playing in Snoqualmie Pass

If you’re up in Snoqualmie Pass or hoping to get there please wish for snow as hard as you can. Thankfully if you are up there you can find a lot more options for food and activities than there ever used to be. You can check out the Commonwealth and The Pass Life Workspace is a brilliant idea if you need a space to hang out for the day in the area if you have kids that have ski lessons.

Harry Potter Magic at Play

The Harry Potter Magic at Play experience at The Bravern in Bellevue was way more fun than I thought it would be and sometimes you can find discounted tickets if you’re subscribed to their emails. This will be in our area through May-mostly weekend and some weekdays. I brought my niece and nephew and here’s a little video if you are curious about what to expect.

Astra Lumina

Astra Lumina is also a really cool light experience happening in Seattle right now too. It’s at the Seattle Chinese Garden through mid-March and especially if you’re free on a clear night this might be a good excuse to get a walk and see something extraordinary.

Edison Chicken Parade: last Sunday of the Month of February at Noon

If you happen to be in Edison on the last Sunday in the month of February you might get to find out what the Chicken Parade is all about-this is a yearly tradition and it sounds very unique. I’m so curious so please let me know if you do too.

Do you have any things to do in Seattle in February ideas I might be missing?

Make sure you message me or comment below. Also I’ll continue to update this list throughout all of February because who is ever ready for the first day of the month? And if you are looking for next month, here are some things to do in Seattle in March.

(PS February is a popular time for families to visit the Hawaiian islands from Seattle because of mid-winter break: here is a post about planning a February trip to Kauai from seattle with kids) and now Alaska Air has a flight from Seattle to Bahamas too.)

(PPS. if you are not traveling with kids, February might not be the best time to plan a Hawaii trip from Seattle)
