Mornings are a juggle in my family and I’m sure yours are too. Like how do we all get out the door and to all the places we need to be and be energized for the day as well? So breakfast is important and Eggo waffles are such a hit in our house. We just L’Eggo with Eggo our mornings and with Eggo Homestyle Waffles we can all have the same meal but in our own way and on our own times so this totally help us make our days more of a win.
Like who is up first in your household in the morning?
It used to be our twin boys who would get up really early but now they are teenagers so it’s usually Dad who is up the earliest (he works in a hospital and starts while most of our city is still asleep) and he eats his Eggo waffles simply with syrup and coffee and sometimes a side of yogurt. Scout is up next and usually looks for someone to cuddle or he heads for his heated mat. Then it’s me, but I’m slow to wake up in the mornings and I’ll likely take my Eggo waffle on the road with my coffee or I’ll have breakfast after I drive the first teen to school. This teen starts the day really early for a teenager and usually eats his Eggo waffles with fruit and yogurt or maybe even whip cream-his school is a bit far away so we leave way before I’m ready for the day but I love our drives to school because we get a chance to chat and then I listen to an audiobook on my way back home.
Simple tasty breakfasts allow for hearty morning chats with teens
The last teenager up has the most leisurely breakfast because his school is close and starts a bit later. But he has soccer after school so I like to make sure he has a pretty hearty breakfast. So this teen might get his Eggo waffles with eggs and tomatoes and maybe even a side of turkey bacon for a savory breakfast. And my favorite mornings are when we get to eat and talk about life. I love how eating breakfast together allows for this time even in all the busyness of life.
So here are some Eggo waffle topping ideas for your mornings too
- cottage cheese and oranges
- peanut butter and banana (and maybe chocolate chips)
- butter and syrup
- almond butter and jam
- seasonal berries and whip cream
- scrambled eggs, cheese, diced tomatoes and basil
- sliced avocado and seasoned salt
