Kenmore Air Flight training in Seattle
I saw “introductory flight lessons” pop up in my instagram feed and it felt like something my guys might like as a gift and the more I thought about it the more I thought it might be something I would like too. Who wouldn’t want to fly a plane for just a little bit. I used to be terrified of planes and maybe I might still be but it might also be empowering to know a bit more how they work. You can find out more on the Kenmore website. I’ve flown with them a few times not in the pilot seat and I love the views you can get from a seaplane. A scenic flight where you’re just the passenger might also be a good gift too.
Hot Tub boat rental on South Lake Union
We may have two hot tub boat rental places in Seattle since I last thought about trying this. There is South Lake Union Hot Tub Boats and Hot Tub Boats that also has a location in San Francisco. Anyways I’ve thought about trying this in the summer but it feels like it would be too hot on a sunny day- in the winter it might feel a lot more magical. We’ve rented an electric boat on South Lake Union and that’s a fun thing to do too.
Fire and Flo
I’ve been following Fire and Flo’s instagram feed for a while and they have a cold plunge and sauna that feels like it would be absolutely magical. I’m not really a sauna person or even a go in a group to jump in cold water person, but for some reason this one has me really intrigued. Fire and Flo is based on Bainbridge Island which also feels like a great adventure from Seattle. One of my favorite adventures with our kids has been when we’ve pedaled to the ferry terminal to explore the island by bike.
Fancy Potato chips
This one isn’t such an experience gift but it is a consumable gift and luxury potato chips aren’t something people usually buy themselves. I know there are some really fancy ones at Delaurenti’s in the market that I want to splurge and try one day. Bite Society has potato chips that are kinder on the wallet and in a really fancy container too. Bit Society has a booth in the market and if these potato chips are sold out there you might find something else just as special-everything I’ve tried has been delicious.
A Climate Pledge Arena Tour
Every time I go to a Kraken game or Storm game (these are also great gift ideas) at Climate Pledge Arena, I remember things from the Climate pledge tour we went on a few years ago now. We have such a cool arena in Seattle, it’s the most sustainable one in the world and the tour takes you to some really interesting places behind the scenes and I took my teenagers and they had a great time too. I think this would make a great gift for someone who is into our Seattle sports or music scene.
An Alderbrook Lodge adventure
Recently my mom and I were hosted at Alderbrook Lodge and this feels SO far from Seattle when you get there in all it’s peacefulness but really it’s only about 2 hours away and even closer if you live in Tacoma. The on site restaurant has delicious food and our room was comfortable and I swam in the warm pool everyday. We hiked and walked the dock to take in the calm energy from the water. We read books and watched seals play. We came home so relaxed. This would be an excellent experience gift for someone who needs a vacation close to home and it might be a gift for you too!
And this isn’t Seattle but Vancouver BC and not too far away
I am a little partial to Vancouver BC, where I’m from, and it’s only a couple hours away too but also feels like a grand adventure. You can check Stay Vancouver Hotels for deals on accommodation. I also use American Express travel (with my credit card I book their destination hotels rate for included breakfast and other perks) and we also have Marriott status so I check their websites too. Fairmont hotels and Pan Pacific Hotels often have Washington Resident rates that are helpful too (I included these in the links). I love a trip as a gift because not only is it a gift but it’s also an experience and these often are the memories we remember our whole life.
Hopefully these last minute gifts in Seattle help you if you are shopping for someone here too!
