Spread the love

When we moved to Seattle over twenty years ago, one of the first things we got was a membership to our Woodland Park Zoo. We are so lucky to have a place like this in our city that supports conservation and helps us, our kids and our visitors learn about our animal neighbors, our earth and how to help take care of each other. So I get really excited when I see cool events pop up in my email that are happening at our zoo. I couldn’t believe when I saw the “Grazing at the Zoo” series in my emails that included an afternoon tea at Woodland Park Zoo. I don’t think we’ve ever had events like this in the time we’ve lived here and I’m definitely going to pay more attention to these kind of upcoming offerings.

Grazing at the Zoo

Grazing at the Zoo includes four different types of foodie events and all include zoo admission. If you are a zoo member you might qualify for a discount admission. My family is part of the Wild at Heart donor club and got an email code for 10% off. These events range from $69-89 for grownups and $49-69 for kids including fees.

Afternoon Tea at Woodland Park Zoo: there are Mother’s Day weekend times available if you’re looking for a great experience gift. This one is on the Polinator Patio just behind Zoomazium.

Papa Bear Brunch: this one is for Father’s Day and you can find the details here and it’s near the bears and lynx.

Pancakes with Penguins: this one is the most reasonably priced of the events and is located near the penguins.

Brunch series: tickets were not on sale for this one yet when I looked it up but you can still find details here. I like that the brunches happen in different areas so you might not be in the same place if you go to two of them.

Brush with Nature

I also noticed recently that Woodland Park Zoo has painting events as well. There are a few different artists that teach the classes and there are some that are kid-friendly as well. Some classes paint on canvases and others have mediums like ornamental wood rounds or bags. You can find out more about painting events at Woodland Park Zoo through the link.

Tasting Flight

In June there is also a tasting event at the zoo called Tasting Flight. This event is two days long and you can choose three different ticketing options for either day. There is one called “designated Driver” that comes without tasting tickets and the premium option comes with 15 tasting tickets and a special commemorative glass.

Have you ever been to an event at Woodland Park Zoo? Do you have a favorite time to visit?
