Spread the love

Why work in the city and wait for the weekend to play in the mountains when you can have an office in the mountains and do both? I had the opportunity to visit the Passlife Workspace near the Summit at Snoqualmie Pass recently with a group of women I’ve met through instagram and this is a gem of a workspace that can really help with work/life balance if you have a job where you can do some or all of your work remotely.

So what is the Passlife Workspace?

You’ll find the Passlife Workspace in a spacious and natural light-filled upstairs area of the renovated century-old Firehall in Snoqualmie Pass. It’s located above an Evo store stocked with outdoor gear and clothing as well as bikes for rent in the summer and snowshoes and skis for the winter. It’s also above the Laconia Market where you can get meals, drinks and snacks all day.

The Passlife Workspace has multiple workstations, private phone call rooms, conference rooms that fit 6-25 people and a Peloton bike and row machine if you want to get some energy out indoors between work zoom calls. You are also right across from the Summit at Snoqualmie Pass which will have mountain biking in 2022 as well as all the winter sports we already know and love.

My group of 12 got to meet in the Cathedral area, a roomy gorgeous events space with high ceilings that can probably hold 35-50ish people. We arranged flowers (I’m so thankful my friends at Trove helped me out with the gift bags and flowers for my guests), chatted and had a lovely catered lunch from Laconia Market. We even went for an after lunch mini hike and you can get to part of the Pacific Crest Trail from the Pass Life Workspace too.

Do we dare tell ski school parents about the Passlife Workspace?

I know that this is definitely going to be a popular spot in the winter with ski school parents once word gets out. I remember when the Commonwealth first opened up as a brand new option for ski parents at the Summit at Snoquamlie Pass too. If you have kids in ski school but still need to get some work done this might be a really more relaxing option than hanging out in one of the ski lodges. There is ample parking, you can walk across the street to Summit West, you can heat and store food you bring in the kitchen area that has a microwave and small fridge or you can get food from downstairs as well. There are comfy chairs you can relax in. And there is an orange fuzzy wall you just need to see to believe. Current drop in prices are about $30 a day and there are Passlife Workspace membership options as well.

Did I mention there is also a shower?

There are private bathroom facilities as well as a shower. For photographers looking for a space to meet their clients and edit photos after a session at Gold Creek Pond, this might be the perfect workspace too. There is ample room here to get last minute makeup touchups and get changed so an outfit might not have to be worn all the way from Seattle to some more remote photoshoot area anymore.

If you work remotely, do you work “from home” or do you prefer to find a coffee shop or office-like area to work in too?
