It’s been a minute since I’ve visited the Seattle Auto Show and this year it’s in town from November 14-17th at Lumen Field. I’ll be at the media preview before the show opens and I’m excited to see what is new this year especially because the twin teenagers got their licenses this summer so we’ve been very car focused this year. Also I have a last-minute ticket giveaway on instagram right now if you are looking to win tickets for the Seattle Auto Show.
What to expect at the Seattle Auto Show for 2024?
If you are buying tickets for the Seattle Auto Show online and want to secure a discounted parking spot-you can pre-purchase parking in the T-mobile lot (about a 10 minute walk) from the event entry for $10 on Thursday and Friday and $15 on Saturday and Sunday. (This option is only available online and pre-purchased so make sure you check this out prior to the event if this is something you are wanting to do). Hours and prices for the show are all listed on the website and I always follow places like this on instagram for up to date information too.
If you are a BECU member and book the BECU rate for the auto show on the website AND use your BECU debt or credit card you can get a $3 discount on admission as well.
Looking at the Event Map on the 2024 Seattle Auto Show site, it looks like there will be food and concessions but I’ll make sure to ask at the media event before the show to make sure.
Will there be EV vehicles?
I just spotted the coolest thing on the Seattle Auto Show website- a post about Hyundai being *thisclose* to making wireless EV charging and as someone who has driven electric nearly a decade now this was a very intriguing read. Looking at the show’s test-driveable fleet there will be lots of EV vehicles at this show.
And another cool EV that you probably want to know about is the VW ID Buzz. The 2024 Seattle Auto Show is the first show in North America to have a VW ID Buzz available for test drive too!
Did you know there is a VIP tour for the 2024 Seattle Auto Show?
I’m a little intrigued by the idea of VIP tours and this one seems reasonably priced at $35 in addition to the cost of the show entry. It comes with a special VIP swag bag and the tours are given by automotive journalists and experts and last about an hour. I might have to check this out too.
And how about test-drives?
There are a plethora of cars available for test-drives with times and locations listed here. It looks like the Ford F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E will be available and the Polestar 3 and Porsche Taycan are here as well. Test-driving is always a popular thing (we noticed this at another recent car expo) so it might be a strategy to sign up at the test-drive areas first before seeing other things at the show so you can do something in the meantime if there is a wait. For driving you do have to be 18 years old, and have a valid driver’s license (and potentially also pass a breathalyzer test. I remember this was something at previous shows)
Is there a showstopper car at this show?
There are a lot of special cars at this show but I’ve been told one to see is a 1967 Lamborghini Miura worth $2 million with less than 1000 ever made.
And is the Seattle Auto Show Family friendly?
With tickets for kids 12 and under priced at FREE when accompanied by an adult this is one event that makes it easy to bring kids along. There is a Family Zone with a scavenger hunt and face painting (it looks like this is Friday, Saturday and Sunday only with specific hours on the website). There will also be Gripwerx simulators and a mobile arcade with racing games like Mario Kart, Forza and Hot Wheels. For kids 3-7 there is even a driving track too.
Have you ever been to the Seattle Auto Show? We’ve loved going as a family in the past and it’s going to be pretty new thing for us bringing the teenagers (they are both 16 and just got their licenses). They are going to be trying to convince us THEY need a car so I’m curious what they’ll be interested in. Is there any specific car or brand you are excited to see?
