If you’ve been following along with my instagram you’ll know that I’ve been helping to promote Stay Vancouver Hotels holiday contest where everyday from November 25th-December 15th they’re giving away hotel stays and activities in Vancouver BC, my beautiful hometown.
So far they’ve given away a stay at the Fairmont Vancouver Waterfront where we often go when we visit Vancouver and the pool here is so dreamy. My friend Sandee and I got to try out their Bottomless Brunch and this sounds like such tough research, I know, but we have been brunching since college and are very skilled at it. The Bottomless brunch is cool here because it comes with unlimited tastings of a bunch of menu items like a skillet of freshly baked apple croissants (the ooey gooey skillet) buttermilk fried chicken and avocado croissants. We even tried some kind of bone marrow dish which we never would have tried if it wasn’t part of a brunch like this. There were so many choices we couldn’t get through them all and we could have doubled up on our favorites but we were too stuffed for that too. We also had a mimosa flight with our brunch that included three tastings-she liked the rose and lychee and I liked the pineapple hibiscus flavor the best.
Capilano Suspension bridge tickets were also given away recently and this is such an iconic place in Vancouver. I hadn’t been in ages so my sister in law and I timed a visit around 3pm so we could see the area in daylight, sunset and also lit up in the dark but we ended up on a freak storm day and were told to leave about 15 minutes after we arrived. I don’t think this happens very often and everyone was really professional about it-we have tickets to come back again so I’m looking forward to that redo. For the short bit that we were there we had a fun time and the decorations were beautiful.
The Vancouver Christmas Market is also a fabulous holiday tradition in the city and this was one of the giveaways recently too. There are so many tasty treats and things to see at the market. And it has a really great location on the waterfront. I think the new Seattle Christmas Market might be modeled after this one.
Stay Vancouver Hotels also has hotel booking promotions for Vancouver area hotels. Currently there is a “Gift Yourself Vancouver” promotion where you can get up to a $250 Prepaid Mastercard® with a two-night booking on the site for stays now through March 31st 2025.
The city is starting to get completely done up for the holidays and not only does Downtown Vancouver have lights but also there are performances in Coal Harbor on select days (you can find the calendar here) and we’re going to try and see these at some point during the holidays too. I love when cities have free festive displays like this that anyone can go see.
Have you ever been to Vancouver BC? (If you’re looking for a things to do in Vancouver with kids post, I have one here as well as one with some holiday things we did here when the boys were very small.)
