When you spend the day at SEA (Seatac airport) and don’t even go anywhere and it’s awesome

I am often invited to SEA (our airport formerly known as SeaTac and still kind of known as SeaTac but it’s moving towards SEA now) for events because of the blog and instagram and the other day my son and I went for the opening of the last new N concourse shops and restaurants but I realized this is something EVERYONE can actually do. With the SEA visitor pass, we just needed to declare the day we wanted to visit before the actual day through the website and we found out at 11:59pm the night before that we were approved to go. If you haven’t been to SEA in a while or maybe if you’re wanting to meet friends who are traveling and passing through the SEA visitor pass is such a great way to do this and we’re lucky to have this at our airport.

And what about the new N concourse restaurants and shops?

SEA is working on getting everything ready for this summer’s Club World Cup games and the 2026 World Cup so it feels really exciting at the airport right now. The N concourse has been in the works for a while and we’ve watched as new shops and restaurants seem to pop up every week. My son and I were invited to the celebration for the last shops to open and we listened to speeches and watched a lion dance in front of PF Changs along with the new SEA mascot Jett (he’s an otter that I think looks a little like an airplane).

So now Lil Woody’s has a shop in the airport too and it’s great to see iconic Seattle places like this accessible to visitors who might not have a whole lot of time in our city. Marcus, the owner of Lil’ Woody’s was at the opening event and it was great to chat with him and hear about how much he values Seattle community.

Embarque Whiskey Grill at SEA

We ate at Embarque Whiskey Grill (related to the Bamuza group you might recognize from a few aiports too). We learned about a gaming restaurant called Sky Gamerz where you (and your kids) can play vintage video games while waiting for your flight. And we spoke with Danielle, owner of Chalo Seattle one of the shops in N Concourse and you’ll recognize her colorful locally focused designs in many bespoke shops in our area. My friend Rachel is also a local blogger and it was fun to hang out with her at this event too.

We caught a drink at PF Changs to finish our afternoon and it’s in a spacious overlook (that gives Amex Lounge vibes) and it was fun to watch people and airplanes head off on their adventures from this vantage point. My family usually hangs out in the lounge before our flights from Seattle but sitting visiting all these places reminded me we that our airport is full of other great places to spend time before our flights too.

One cool thing at SEA you might not know about

I learned the last time I visited that the visitor info desks at SEA have monthly postcards you can request. I meant to check what this month’s postcard is but I forgot to stop by the booth. If I knew about this when the guys were small I would have used this as a walking adventure for us to get a little walk and reward and tire our legs before we headed off on a flight.

And another cool thing at SEA

Outside security where international flights arrive and most people wait for international arrivals, there is a set of two vending machines that have maybe the coolest vending machine products in our city. Here you can get Hello Kitty themed drinks and cookies, fruit sandwiches, macarons and other tasty snacks. There are also bubble tea drinks in cool bottles too. We stopped by on our way into the airport so didn’t pick up anything this time.

Do you know if you can visit your local airport with something like the SEA visitor Pass? Have you ever done this at SEA?
