First of all have you signed up to potentially be a FIFA World Cup Volunteer next year in Seattle? If you’re a soccer fan or just a fan of Seattle, this might be something you might want to see if you want to try so it doesn’t hurt to sign up and it’s one way to really experience the excitement that will be in our city. I’m currently volunteering for some of the Fifa Club World Cup games and this was a journey that I started last year when I signed up through a similar form. I think this is one way I know that there is the Fifa Club World Cup going on (we haven’t seen a lot of advertising) and I’m thankful we also bought tickets to watch some of the games.

The other day I went with friends to the River Place and Urawa Match. There were maybe 11,000 fans in the stadium but the energy was absolutely magic. This is the type of feeling I have noticed in games we’ve seen in Europe. Last year we went to a PSG match in France and a Bayern Munich game in Germany and seeing teams arrive from all over the world for the Club World Cup this year feels like such an honor for our city. There are still a few games left in Seattle and I’m not sure they are sold out yet but if you’re a local soccer fan you might want to check out some of these games too, especially because the Seattle Sounders are also playing a few of these games.
I will let you know more about what I’m doing behind the scenes as soon as I can. But for now, are you also a soccer fan in Seattle? (I have a work in progress post about all the places to eat near where kids play soccer in the city if you’re a soccer parent too.)
PS. in the next few weeks I’ll probably be trying a bunch of food items at Lumen Field as well. I tried chicken tacos the other day that were pretty tasty. Tutta Bella pizza is also there. And I noticed there were Dubai chocolate covered strawberries by Lune but we’d already bought dippin’ dots so that was our treat for the day. Do you have a favorite place to eat at Lumen Field?
(PS. I’m starting to hear about where you can watch FIFA WORLD CUP in Seattle for 2026 now too)
