Spread the love

The other night I felt like my heart was ripped apart and put back together watching the Notebook the Musical at the Paramount theatre with Broadway in Seattle and it was the show I was most excited for this season) and I keep feeling all the emotions well up inside of me as I put the finishing touches on this piece. I’m thankful that I’ve been on the Broadway in Seattle media list for a long time and I’m thankful I can share about the Broadway musicals that arrive in our city. Musicals are such an escape from reality and allow for expression within community. I remember going to Moulin Rouge in maybe 2023, my first musical since the start of the pandemic and feeling the joy of dancing on our feet with the cast at the end of the show while confetti fell from the sky. There are still musicals left in the 2025/2026 season but also you might be a planner who wants to look ahead and are curious what the 2026/2027 season of Broadway musicals in Seattle looks like:

So behold, the 2026/2027 season of Broadway musicals in Seattle with Broadway in Seattle and STG presents:

(And this time I’ll wait until the end of my list to tell you which one I’m most excited about.)

HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD August 22 – September 12, 2026

This season opener is here for more than the usual one week run we see with Broadway plays in our city and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will likely be popular. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child received 6 Tony awards including one for best play in 2018. This musical is recommend for ages 8 and up and I’ll know more about what it’s like after I see it for the first time too. This musical will be one of the longer ones this season running 2 hours 55 minutes including an intermission.

WATER FOR ELEPHANTS October 6 – 11, 2026

I know this book came out in the early 2000’s and I think I might have even owned a copy but I can’t remember it for the life of me. So, before now and October, I’ll try to read Water for Elephants and maybe you’ll want to too. Meanwhile you can read more about the musical here.

OH, MARY!  November 3-8 2026

(this one is a Season Option that you can add on to your subscription if you have season’s tickets)

Oh Mary! is intriguing to me-it sounds like it might be a little dark- it’s about President Lincoln’s wife in the weeks leading up to his assassination but also it’s supposed to be a comedy. Like Six, it has no intermission and runs 80 minutes. This one is not recommended for under 14 (and I’ve seen at some theaters that children under 4 will not be admitted). I’ll know more about Oh Mary! after I’ve seen it for review (and I’ll update ASAP)

THE OUTSIDERS November 27 – December 6, 2026

This is another classic book turned musical, and it might be another one that we all read or re-read before we see The Outsiders on Stage. (maybe even there could be an Outsiders Musical book club?) The Outsiders musical is supposed to last around 2 hours 30 minutes including a 15 minute intermission.

DISNEY’S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST December 22, 2026 – January 3, 2027

I will forever love a Disney musical, these movies are truly meant for stage. Beauty and The Beast will be in Seattle through the holiday season which might make this one extra popular in our city. This is also the first time this musical has toured North America in 25 years.

HADESTOWN (Season Option) *January 19 – 24, 2027

(this one is a Season Option that you can add on to your subscription if you have season’s tickets)

We missed Hadestown when it last came to Seattle, so I’m looking forward to seeing this one in the coming season. It won a Tony for best musical in 2019 (among a host of other awards) and it sounds like it will be an incredible show. I’ll update when I learn more.

THE WHO’S TOMMY March 16 – 21, 2027

I had to google a bunch of things to understand what The Who’s Tommy musical will be about. The Who made a rock opera album in the 1960’s about Tommy, a child who was extremely traumatized from witnessing a violent event but then goes on to become a pinball prodigy. So now I’m invested and curious about what this will be like and I’ll update as soon as I see it for myself.

Six the Musical with Broadway in Seattle

SIX (Season Option) * April 20 – 25, 2027

(this one is a Season Option that you can add on to your subscription if you have season’s tickets)

I loved SIX last time it came to Seattle, and I would definitely go again and recommend it ad naseum. Especially since I didn’t understand it the first time I saw it and did not give it a fair chance. But now it’s one of my favorite musical scores to listen to in the car. I love all the songs and the story behind the musical too.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC June 1 – 6, 2027

Who else loved the Sound of Music growing up? But also I just realized I never watched this with my guys and they have been deprived. So now I know theSound of Music Musical in Seattle will also be the musical I’m most looking forward to seeing (and even just thinking about this is making me bawl.) My twins will be wrapping up their last month of high school when this comes to our city before heading off somewhere yet unknown. I can’t imagine a more fitting musical for this month and I’ll let you know how it goes (and if you grew up with this one, you might want to get tickets for the Sound of Music too.)

THE GREAT GATSBY July 6 – 11, 2027

On the way into 2020 it felt like every party theme was “Gatsby-inspired” and then we kind of missed out. I’m finally ready to re-embracing the glitz and glam and theme of this musical. I remember reading the book in University and it’s probably one I need to flip through again. You can read more about the Great Gatsby Musical here and I’ll update you when I see it. And I’m definitely looking forward to the set, costumes and dancing as much as the storyline for this one.

If you’re looking to get a Broadway in Seattle subscription you can find more about that here.
