Design a little bit of good (FashionABLE and Alt)

Here’s my little plea for some good on a Thursday afternoon when there is oh so much sad on the news.

The lovely Alt team has teamed up with FashionABLE for a contest and though I’m clueless at design, I love both of these groups oh so much and I hope someone I know out there finds this a neat outlet for their creativity to do some good too.  Altitude Summit has brilliant classes and conferences that I’ve taken over the past couple years and I love how they empower so many women and how they’re such a vibrant and creative community.  I for one, have learned so much from them and I’m truly thankful.

FashionABLE is a group that creates sustainable business in Africa and I’ve bought a gorgeous scarf from them in the past and I love the idea that my shopping can do a little bit of good to change the world.  Alt and FashionABLE are challenging a maker to create a brilliant scarf design in their contest and when you do I totally want to buy one!  (You do your part, I’ll do mine!)

So please, instead of dwelling on the sad stuff that’s going on right now, please join me in doing something positive today and if you do create something for Alt, I’d love to hear!

(PS. I think the contest ends on July 24th, 2014 and you can buy the winning scarf on September 1st!)
